ESPN Draft Expert Says "This is Not the Year" for the Titans to Draft a Franchise Quarterback

Not a single draft expert, coach, or GM had a first round grade on the best QB in the history of the sport. Nobody knows if these QBs will be elite or not. Educated guesses are proven wrong more often than not. Especially in the NFL world

Matt Miller(the guy being interviewed) actually predicted Mahomes going to the Chiefs in the 1st round 😂 He wrote that Andy Reid and Mahomes were perfect match but that Mahomes would need to sit and develop(which he did for one year) Because he saw Mahomes as development QB - he had Trubisky as QB1 to the Bears and Deshaun Watson as QB2 to the Bills.

It happens but can't depend on that. Same with Brock purdy. I would draft Will Howard but not until second or third round. Then you might loose him to another team

Desperation is starting your rookie QB in year one.Some teams get lucky. Kurt Warner fell into a great situation. The St.Louis Rams had a great team. Trent Green got injured in training camp and QB1 role was gifted to him. The Titans do not have that playoff team yet, just needing a franchise QB. Many losing teams try and draft a potential franchise QB, then hope he can win with a team that has bigger needs on defense, special teams and the O line.

So the whole year, Cam Ward and Sheduer Sanders game after game were hyped up and proved that they are clearly the best two Quarterbacks in the country. Not only hyped up by fans but by media as well with a lot of them saying saying Sheduer would be the #1 pick. Now after both of their bowl games, the media switched on both and now claiming Sheduer has a weak arm..... these experts are literally meant to just spread bs. The sportsbooks are literally telling us that Cam and Sheduer are the top two picks. All this other stuff is just meant to get people to argue

They can get a vet QB. Youre more likely to survive a hot seat with a vet QB vs rookie. Caleb and Drake teams both had multiple dudes fired. So did Bryce last year.

@5:28 I agree! Jayden/Caleb/Drake/Nix/Penix/JJ > Shedeur and Cam Picking the wrong QB at number 1 legit would set this team back at least 3 to 5 years! They should only pick if they are confident in the prospect. Otherwise, trade back!

Build your Defense, Oline and offensive weapons through the draft. Trade the top pick for multiple picks. Save that cap space and give Mason Rudolph a shot at QB1 starting in training camp and not the back up. Draft a QB to develop. A good QB will fall to the 3rd round. Ready or not, When you draft a QB in round one, fans and media are anxious to see that guy starting. Many Titans fans were upset to see Malik Willis go. He was a 3rd round pick. "Timing is Everything" The Best year for a rookie should be his third year. Even a franchise QB will have a very bad game. Jerod Goff threw 5 ints in one game this year.

His ability to see the field and get the ball out with a fast release makes him ready to play right away.

The Titans have not had the number one pick since 1978 and only have drafted two good quarterbacks in the Oilers and Titans history that means you can't just go get a quarterback in the draft any year, I keep hearing people talk about well let's just get a quarterback in the draft another year when the hell are you going to get another number one pick since the last time was 1978 it's not just that easy to say we going to draft a quarterback in any year

Texans are loaded with talent and a pro bowl WR and end to support Stroud. 4 pro bowlers in total, Of course Stroud is going to the playoffs. Titans traded away a top RB and have a garbage Oline. Not one player going to the pro bowl. Drafting a QB would be a sophomoric move and I don’t think the incoming GM will be a 🤡 like the one they just bounced.

Ward and Sanders are not 1st round talent. All they are going to do is get a team’s fan bases hopes up. Then they will be right back here next year and the year after. Ward is a big play hunter that is going to flame out a la Caleb Williams. Sanders doesn’t really have that great of an arm. He’s going to struggle in inclement weather and wind.

Titans chose not to spend the time to develop Malik Willis, and now Levis. They throw QB's out there to sink or swim. Getting another rookie this year will not change that dynamic. They need a veteran that a rookie can spend significant time learning under.
