Only at Alabama, could a QB that went 26-2, back to back championship games, that can run like Jalen, lose his job to a younger QB, who's just better. Nick has our squad stacked at every position, with the exception of Kicker, there's 5 star guys, three deep. Love Jalen, but the only question is will he switch positions or transfer?

I agree, its wierd & couple yrs ago I lived in Muscle Shoals, now I live here in Madison & both places is full of accurate 50-60 yrd kickers ! Us BAMA fans are so tired of sweating our asses off, over the past few seasons everytime we need a kick ! WHY cant BAMA get a friggin kicker ? uugghh

I hear ya......and I agree, it's a much better STORY.....We had a kid, 3rd string, who WON THE NATTY, had beaten BAMA.....was the MVP in OUR CONFERENCE GAME.....the next year, he went undefeated (8-0) and was set to WIN back to back championships (not LOSE them)....and OUR COACH BENCHED HIM (Cardale Jones) ! We had to watch as OUR COACH squandered all of our opportunities ! YOURS WAS CLOSE. VERY CLOSE. HE WAS ONE HALF AWAY FROM LOSING BACK 2 BACK NATTY's. Then he came to his senses. Ours never did. CONGRATS !!!

Where do you get he's lost his job? You assume Saban was starting Hurts without reason and that he was not preparing this for a month.

King-Of-The- Pac Again you assume Saban does not know what he's doing! You actually believe Saban would not have had him in, say the Auburn or Clemson game if it gave them a better chance at winning? Also Georgia had a month to prepare for Jalen.

Frankly, the most important play in the game is the missed TD by Hurts. If he makes the throw and we go in at halftime only down by 6, does Tua get in? Probably not and then we don't score again, we lose. Or Hurt's plays the same for another quarter and Tua gets in to late to bring us back.

Yes I know it was a big call in a very big game for coach Saban to change quarterbacks at the half. Sure you think about the effect it could have on Hurts. But I look at it this way. With the offense not moving the ball and Hurts struggling, at the rate things were going, Bama was going to lose that game. What did Nick have to lose without even trying to switch? The game!!! He had no choice but to at least try it. In today's football, college and pro, it is a luxury to have a really good backup quarterback. Most true leaders feel it beneath them to come off the bench and play a backup role. Besides that, their college clock is ticking. The answer for Bama could be to use Hurts in other capacities, other positions. I would understand if he transferred but as a QB he is still challenged to develop as a passer. Unless he does, he would be limited at the next level.

I think Alabama and Georgia will be 2 of the top 4 teams the next 5 years. I hope the committee sticks to the 4 best teams and not deserving. Many things happen and an example was FSU QB going down and they finish 6-6. I felt FSU would have won 10 games with him. I felt this was the first playoffs that felt that either playoff game can go either way. We all knew Bama would destroy Michigan State and Washington. OSU best team might be the one that was left out because of there horrible loss at home. Right now Georgia 2018 class and Bama's 2017 class could be the best 2 ever. 7 five stars for Bama. 8 this year for Georgia. Right now Saban has 4 of the top 10 recruits since he has been at Alabama. 2 will be sophomores. The other 2 are Anome and Surtain jr who are freshman. 2017 Alabama brings in the number 1 dual threat QB and number 1 RB. Georgia follows up with the same. number 1 dual threat and RB. We are not surprised to see Bama back every year because of there 7 straight number 1 classes. Now they have the most explosive offense Saban has ever had the next 2 years. As fans we understood when OSU reloaded. I think we were surprised by Clemson because they never have a top 10 class till now. Still never a top 5. Georgia loses a lot on D and both dynamic RB's. However they bring in a superclass like the 2017 Tide class who at one time had 6 true freshman on the field. On offense Georgia will be better. They have 4 blue chip running backs. Only Bama can compare. On D they bring back a great piece on every level of there D plus you have Smart who is the best D mind behind Saban. With the Pac 12 being down. The Big 10 will hurt each other. The Big 12 will be lucky to have a 1 loss team. Clemson D line is scary. The rest you can beat. FSU is a sleeper. They can play up tempo with Taggert. That game will tell me if Clemson is the best team or a contender only. OSU is a sleeper. That sounds odd but they have the athletes. Throwing the ball better is what will make them great. There QB's don't have the upside of Alabama(Tua) or Georgia. If both SEC teams are undefeated going into the sec title game do you drop them if its close and there ranked 1 and 2. If you bring in two teams ever again from the same conference you have to put them in different brackets. Not because it could be another all SEC. Let other conferences beat one or both. The reason I'm saying this is because Clemson and OSU recruit well but Georgia is building a monster. Saban will embrace the challenge.

You do realize....MOST TEAMS are tougher to beat when their healthy (it's kind of intuitively obvious) but that's NOT WHY BAMA WON THE NATTY this year....and it's definitely not why OSU won in 2014. BAMA won this year (not because JALEN was hurt [he wasn't] and not because TUA got healthy).....it was BECAUSE saban made a volitional choice to play TUA OVER JALEN.....(Note: Your Linebackers WERE NOT THE REASON BAMA was going to lose....and they were not the reason BAMA won). Hope you can SEE THAT. OSU didn't have a tough time beating BAMA in 2014. Clemson didn't have a tough time beating BAMA last year....and Georgia definitely wasn't having a tough time beating BAMA in the first half this year. You're not saying your Linebackers got healthy at Halftime are you ? In ALL of these cases, it was about WHO was playing QB for the two teams in the Championship game ! Or perhaps better said WHO wasn't.
