A 8-3 SEC is likely a 10-1 in the any of the other conferences. I mean just look. SMU is leading the ACC. The big 12 is a dumpster fire. All of those teams were average before being lumped together in a mediocre conference. Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma have curb stomped SMU for years. The only change is the other 3 now play quality competition so have a few more losses.

I agree. The 3 loss teams to get in should either be A&M if they beat Texas and Georgia, Georgia if they lose in the SEC championship, or SC if they beat Clemson. Over bama. I still think 3-4 SEC teams should and will get in. And that's fair, just pit them against the other conferences not against each other. If there's not a path for at least the top 2 SEC teams to make the finals (I.e. if the playoff committee doesn't rank them in a way where they don't play each other again), there will be hell to pay for committee when the conferences meet to renegotiate the championship format. Do the right thing or pay.
