Jokic gives you just as many points, more rebounds and more assist. He was leading the league in rebounds and assist! Denver is currently 4th in the west which is respectable considering the bad start. SGA probably leads the league in steals so I'll give him that but the numbers are too good for Jokic not to be MVP. It should be his 5th MVP this year honestly but they felt sorry for Embiid. We won that year he got snubbed to.

These might be some hot takes, but I think SGA should win for these reasons. 1. (this being the least hot) He's the best player on the best team in his conference. He's second in ppg (behind Giannis) while leading the league in total points scored this season, and leads the league in plus-minus of any player BY FAR, with even Jokic trailing behind him by around +100 2. (hottest take) Although Jokic's stats are incredible, he's already won an MVP by leading in offensive stats and only being the 6th seed. While there's nothing wrong with that, we should expect a better translation between his play and results from him to win another MVP. Either his team should contend for 1st seed, or he needs to lead the league in one of the 3 main categories (points, assists, rebounds) by the end of the season to have an undisputed MVP again. 3. The league needs to herald in it's next era of superstars and SGA is showing that he's capable being one, SGA is arguably the best 2-way player in the league right now, and is top 3 in categories on both sides of the ball (steals and ppg). He is definitely worthy of being MVP this season.
