F1 here in MIami was a huge success for the spectacle alone. Over 40,000 more people attended than last year, the initial race. The event is full of celebrities and glamour. The problem is that the racing itself is putrid. There's really little mystique left to the racing product itself.

There was very little risk involved , Niki lauda said he could guarantee him a title winning car . Merc had been developing the hybrid power units in development with FIA to get the rules and regs and nerc had an unlimited budget . Mercedes f1 was started by pretty much an f1 dream team behind scenes and even brought Schumacher in as driver to set up finishing touches . So it was a pretty safe move

When Lauda call you and you are in "so-so" team, you say yes :) from history we know, he always had very good sense, how successful team should run and Brawn together with big corporation like Mercedes with big infrastructure and financial background obviously promise big things. I think Lewis move was never so blind move, as people want to represent it. Sure there was no guarantees, but if anybody did homework, he could see this team promise big things. The rest is History.

Nah , the decision to go to Mercedes had no risk . By the time the hybrid era started mercs car was so dominant the risk was zero , before that all they had to do was get the team ready , mechanics, engineers , etc , Schumacher was brought in to work with them for a driver point of view to set them up and get them ready
