Bron is probably a better overall defender j bc rim protection>perimeter defense and he can guard 1-5, but he’s a forward and has to compete with other forwards. If Bron was a 2 or 1 for his whole career he’d prob have like 15 all defensive selections. Tim Duncan being at the forward spot instead of center def got helped by that, making first team all d even while Shaq, Robinson, Dikembe, Dwight, etc played. 2- Phil Jackson himself said (in like 2010 or something btw) that Kobe was overrated on defense and was making all defense on reputation alone. Kobe is an all time great, top 5 player, LA hometown I love him, but people overlook some things and end up disrespecting other all time greats in the process

If you give Lebron Shaq, there is NO guarantee that they would win a title. Shaq could not be depended on in the clutch. His inability to make free throws make him not reliable in the clutch. Therefore Kobe was the perfect player to play next to Shaq. Lebron is not a closer. I agree with Stephen A 2000 Finals Game 4. In that game, Shaq fouled out and who lead Lakers? Kobe. Kobe at his prime was exceptional. He was a force that was rare.
