Finally I understand why they're not hitting those plays over the middle the way they did so much last year. The defense has kind of taken that away from them so they changed it up a bit this year.

Yes, and this also explains the interception against Dallas where Nico could have gone straight instead he curled in

Proof that ESPN doesn’t want the Texans or CJ Stroud to succeed. By literally posting a scouting report on social media 😂

@@Teddy42O it doesn't bother me at all, in fact I'm a big stroud fan. I am black myself, and no I don't like to see "us" fail. I just don't see a need to bring up race at all.

Great Breakdown! Because the incompetent fanbase are already blaming the OC, O-Line, and even Stroud. smdh

OC, the offensive line, and Stroud all share the blame for our struggles. OC and O line are far worse than Stroud though. Slowik's offense is outdated, resembling an earlier version of the scheme Shanahan first implemented in San Francisco. Defenses have adapted to this, making our plays highly predictable. The silver lining is that Slowik excels at scripting the first 15-20 plays of a game, and the talent among our skill position players compensates for our predictability, allowing the offense to start strong and put players at ease early on. However, Slowik tends to avoid making adjustments during games, much like Shanahan, which amplifies the predictability of our offense. By the fourth quarter, opposing teams can easily anticipate our calls based on our personnel packages, which is detrimental. It's no surprise we've failed to score in the second half of five consecutive games, why we face the most third-and-longs, and we rank as the worst team in the NFL on early downs. This also explains why the Texans struggle so much when their star players are absent; the remaining players can't overcome our predictability through execution.Joe Mixon's injury caused our offense to rank among the worst for several games. Additionally, Nico Collins's injury led to the disappearance of our deep passing game immediately. While Slowik's predictability and lack of adjustments are major issues, our offensive line is just as problematic, if not worse. They are average, but Joe Mixon's vision compensates for this and makes are run offense way better than it should. However, it becomes a bigger issue when our offense leans too heavily on the run, which in turn makes us, you guessed it, predictable. The pass protection is especially detrimental this season. Slowik's offense also relies on excellent timing and chemistry between Stroud and his receivers and glance routes take longer to develop. These glance routes reduce the predictability of our play-calling, which we desperately need. Unfortunately, Stroud often lacks the time in the pocket to make even a single read at times this year This lack of time has led to excessive pressure on him, which is damaging for any quarterback's development. It has made Stroud more hesitant and paranoid, drastically reducing the timing and chemistry he has with our wide receivers. As a result, he tends to release the ball too early, leading to inaccuracy and lowering the efficiency of our passing offense, making it one-dimensional and even more predictable. Additionally, the receivers must make the correct decisions on these glance routes, which is challenging for younger players or those not accustomed to this style of play. CJ Stroud isn't the primary issue; our offense does struggle from his refusal to throw check-downs, which is problematic in which he lacks time. Moreover, drops have emerged as an underrated issue for our offense. When we're already dealing with execution and predictability, drops become even more damaging than they do for most other teams.
