Celtics fan here: I love JB so much because he’s always aggressive on both sides of the ball and has filled the Marcus Smart role very well. Tatum playing against the best defender and being smart enough to move the ball and know when to be aggressive isn’t covered enough because they want to hate. His shot hasn’t been falling but he was aggressive getting to the rim last night. Talking about how easy the Celtics have had it without having the most unique offseason acquisition in a while isn’t talked about enough

was just about to say omething similar. Jayson Tatum is more of a star, he can hit tough shots better than jaylen brown. Brown just plays more to his strengths and consistently to those abilities. Brown will give you a consistent 23-25 a game. Tatum can give you cloe to 30 a game. Sure his numbers have gone down between regular season and playoffs but to me sounds like people are mad he hasnt had a game where people felt he just couldnt miss. Or he was hitting big time shots. Outside of the OT win none of the celtics games have been thrillers. Out of the 12 playoff games the C's have played only 2 have been decided by less than 10 points, The OT game 1 win (5) and game 4 against cleveland (7)

Idk if Tatum ignored Perk’s calls or maybe didn’t want to take a picture with him or something but his fixation with downplaying him is getting wierd. Game 1 the Cs were +20 when Tatum was in the game. Every time they had a lead and he went to the bench it vanished. He didn’t score in the 4th despite having 26 pts but when the game went into OT and he scored 10 more points Perk came out and said “he’s not doing enough”. Game 2 the team is rolling and guys are getting involved while Tatum starts out cold. Scores 19 in the 2nd half and that’s still not even for Perk standards. Tatum could come out next game and have 42 pts 12 rebs and 6 assists and JB 28 7 and 5 and Perk will still say “Brown shot 52% and is proving he’s better than Tatum”

He openly stated that he didn't vote for Jaylen Brown for All NBA yet he has the audacity to say that he is the best Celtic while Tatum was first team All NBA. Quite hypocritical. Devin Booker and KD was voted All NBA yet they are a sixth place team and got swept first round. Lakrers have two players yet they are a play in team. Celtics are the best team n the NBA yet the have one player represented. Jaylen Brown plays both sides of the ball and should have received All Defensive this year also. He is only recognized by the Celtics organization who gave his a max contract. The NBA. voting is greatly flawed and biased.

He struggled to get his shot off against BOTH of them. And on the flip side Jaylen got a majority of his 40 points against the same two players, AND Myles Turner. Enough already lol. Tatum has done a lot this playoffs but I agree with a part of perks arguement. He's not playing like a superstar and it gives me PTSD on if tatum is going be a no show like in 2022.

I feel JB and Jt are actually pretty even. They generally have way more plays designed for JT cuz the coach has made him their #1 guy.....but boston has such an embarrassment of riches that JT doesnt always have to be the guy. Anybody on their 1-5 can be the guy at any given time. Which is gonna make it pretty sad if they cant finish it up this year.

I’m a Celtics fan and have watched every game of both these guys careers and when Tatum is on he’s one of the best players in the league but he’ll have games where he struggles shooting Jaylen is a much more consistent player but I wouldn’t put him over Tatum

It's finals MVP, not playoff MVP. We're not in the finals yet, you have no idea how either JT or JB will perform when / if they get there, so there's no basis for this comment whatsoever. If JB is better in the finals he should get it, if JT is better in the finals he should get it, end of story.

@@jctslice it’s easy to be consistent when your not being guarded by the other teams best defensive player every night my guy. The last time he was in Tatum’s shoes was game 7 against Miami last year and he had one of the worst performances I’ve ever seen as soon as Miami shifted their focus to him.
