Absolutely. I've said elsewhere that they were letting the women play and not calling a lot of fouls earlier in that game. TBH, Carrington would have fouled out long before the end of the game if they had been calling the game tight enough to give her free throws on that last shot. That doesn't mean it's not a brutal loss for Baylor, of course, but I can't get too worked up about Carrington being robbed after seeing Carrington get 2 charges and slamming into people out of control more times than that with no whistle. A great game that should have been played in the Final Four, and if it stings Baylor enough to come back next year & beat UConn in the tournament, well, that's the way it should be.

I really think that Baylor expected to intimidate UCONN through their physical play. In the 3rd quarter Paige was working without the ball and the Baylor defender simply shoved her about 4 feet away. Clearly an intimidation move. Paige turned around, a head fake, ran by the defender, got the ball and scored. But, if you look at the shooting percentages you realize that Baylor beat themselves with poor shooting. Making 1 more 3-point shot wins the game for them. So shooting 22% for the 3's doesn't get it done. It wasn't the refs who beat them, the ones who beat them look at them in the mirror each day.

This Uconn team that fell one game shy of the final was very, very young...7-freshmen & 0-seniors. In past when Geno possessed a transcendent talent (Diana Taurasi or Maya Moore or Breanna Stewart) and surrounded them with excellent players, multiple championships ensued. Upcoming season Geno will likely have TWO legitimate generational talents in Paige & Azzi. They will be surrounded by abundant elite teammates. Barring injury I think Uconn is on precipice of another historic run. Once Uconn gels as a team next season IMHO South Carolina will be the only team possibly capable of staying on same court with them.

@@sambrown7673 Not saying she wouldn't be honored by him...but I'll just leave it at she's a great young player who should dominate the WOMEN'S national basketball association

She’s a certified baller. Wonder if she will go to the WNBA after this year, not sure what the rules are, but she could easily play amongst the best!
