I normally watch most vids with Pat and Courtney but I can't do this one. I can't believe the Bears would even consider this dude. He brought me great joy because the Packers always flamed out in the playoffs. It's not like he won or went to several SB's. They had terrible losses in the playoffs under him. That last SB he went to was almost 15 years ago. He made the playoffs in Dallas and they got crushed by the Packers. Ben Johnson is still available but they'd hire McCarthy over him..smh lol They better not hire that 🤡

@@chitownsoldier80 at least Shanahan has been to SB's the last few years and he usually has the top rated offense in the league and he makes average QB's better. One could argue that McCarthy only has a SB because of Aaron Rogers. The fact is McCarthy is straight trash and it would be a terrible hire especially when there are better coaching candidates out there.

The excuse about wanting a veteran coach is 8:22 ludicrous. McVay’s first head coaching job was the Rams and see what he’s done. Just throw all that you have at Ben Johnson and surround him with qualified coordinators. Bears need a young coach that would be there for the majority of Caleb’s career. They grow together

The security of having a McCarthy is great, but that’s all it is, SECURITY in “The Safe Play”, BUT McVay,McConnell (Oops, picked ‘Flus instead🤦🏻‍♂️), LeFleur, weren’t and changed their teams trajectory hands down! We gotta take a shot again! Even Joe Brady’s sharp! Hopefully, it’s Kevin Warren’s influence that is the tipping point in making the “RIGHT” choice this time! We can only hope for Caleb’s sake (and ours), that they nail it this time!

Unknown leader skills is a crapshoot - bottom line; find a McVay? Fine. Risk sifting thru 7 or 8 inexperienced head coaches and betting you are getting the next McVay with this front office? Good luck. BTW, any offensive coordinator can look like the second coming with the Lions o-line. I witnessed McCarthy call plays for years against the Bears and we never figured out what was coming. At this point, good enough for me.

It would be so like this organization to lose out on the top candidates of this HC cycle. I’m seeing now that there is a strong possibility that Johnson may be swayed by Tom Brady and the Raiders. Also, the Bears weren’t wanting to bring in Vrabel to Halas Hall for the interview, but McCarthy is getting the red carpet treatment? What happened to the Bears “keeping it on the same playing field” and just doing virtual interviews for the first round? McCarthy’s success during the regular season should be taken with a grain of salt. He mainly coached with the Packers in a rather weak/mediocre NFC Central and now North division. And we all know about the NFC LEAST, until recently with the Eagles past success. Isn’t McCarthy’s play calling rather stagnant or outdated compared to what the newer offenses are running? He no doubt will be an upgrade from what the Bears have had, but it’d be yet another mediocre hire considering the circumstances.

I’m all in on McCarthy. He turned a 4th round QB in Dak and made him a 3x pro bowl QB. He won a SB with a superstar QB in Rodgers. His teams are consistently in the playoffs. I think he could develop Caleb well.

Selling point for McCarthy? One Super Bowl with one of the greatest QB’s. Bears don’t make that mistake. The man is so fat, he’s a ticking time bomb for a heart attack.
