Army vet here, win or no win. Hands down one of the most exciting, best played and exhilarating endings in Army/Navy history. It’s my favorite game of the year and this one was my favorite all time.

My platoon leader, who was a West Point graduate, was extremely excited just before the army navy game was on. I think about him at this time every year. Go Army! -C Company 1st Battalion 35th Armor, 3rd Platoon, 1st AD, Erlangen Germany, 1975-1978.

It’s never ur last sir. I’m a 50 year old army combat vet and never miss a game. One day ur gonna be a retired vet too and watching this game in ur paid off home on ur leather couch with kids running around and/or coming over to sit next to u and watch the game. At that point u will realize that at that moment in ur life, that u just experienced the best way to watch that game no matter who won because ur the winner. Remember those games up in the stands because they are amazing but they get better as u get better. Keep ur head down and ur eyes on target s and always come back home. Never forget that while ur enlisted soldiers are lower ranking than u but never less than u. Ur their leader but they will die to save u, that’s ultimate respect. As a grunt myself, we understood our roles but we’re never short on pride and how to do our job. Rangers Lead The Way!

I was shocked when the final Navy play was started from the 2 yard line. Watching the replay here... still shocked. Looks to me like the line judge ran in towards the ba k shoulder despite ball being in forward arm. Either way, great effort by both teams. Congrats to Army.

@@asuhdude6668 I dont disagree that was a bad call on the punt. But drawing a line from that point forward is illogical. The entire football game would have been changed had that happened. Navy finally started playing well when down 17-3. So you argument is that had navy been down 17-3 earlier in the game, the goal line stand may have been irrelevant because navy would have kicked it into higher gear sooner and won without it? A strip sack returned for a TD is a relatively random play that likely would have not occured had the butterfly effect started with that punt fumble call. So best case for army is that they trade touchdowns of one of those two fumbles (one being called the other not). But yes, i agree that had that punt been called a fumble, that the goal line play with 7 seconds would not have happened. Thanks for the CAPS!

I played the Army Navy game on EA Sports college football 25 with my friend. I was Army and he was Navy. We agreed to play defense like real game. Army plays with a 10 yard cushion. And Navy plays goal line defense. I ended up winning 24 to 21. I’m an Army vet and my friend is a Navy vet.

Two things typically stand out (lately) in this rivalry. One, American football is not an easy game to play, no matter how much you practice it. Two, defense is still an important element of the game. Not too many programs understand that.
