These kids have been playing their hearts out for Billy, and so many of my Gator brethren want him fired still. I have to admit I finally caved after A&M, but I have changed my mind again since that game: this guy is bringing the Gators back.

It's not necessarily popular to admit, or safe to pop our heads out yet, but those of us who were convinced Napier would be fired after the A&M game have that man in our kitchens prepping our meal of crow as of late.

I hung my hat up with that Miami loss but I’ve always liked the guy and I like how he’s trying to build this roster and recruiting. I see more negative than positives still but that’s where winning games comes in to play. I never cared for his offensive scheme either but Lagway makes this look so good. We have some real Gators growing up before our eyes. Go Gators!

Agreed, Greg. UF does appear to be trending in the right direction. They also beat UK badly and beat a solid UCF team. Home field advantage has been huge this year, so Ole Miss imo indeed needs to be on upset alert going into the Swamp.

For real the offense is predicated on an rpo play calling however with lagways hamstring injury since Georgia he’s basically a statue in the pocket and is still shredding defenses

The only reason a 3 loss team was talked about is UGA has the #1 rated strength of schedule. Ole Miss doesn't and would only have the win over UGA coupled with two bad losses to UF and UK.

Clemson/miami, then we clear with LSU, A&M. And FSU/Florida means more than UGA/GT regardless of team record. Y’all also play 2 FCS schools we played 1. The frustrating thing for me about watching Napier's teams for the last few years is the offensive play calling. We'd run into the line on 1st and 2nd down, have a long 3rd, and throw a short pass. Whether it's Lagway's deep capability or just a change in offensive philosophy, something has changed, and the Gators are FINALLY going vertically. If they continue, I see good things for the Gators.

LSU ran 90 offensive plays to Florida 43. That should tell you a lot about how this game went. Florida was efficient on their 43 offensive plays. LSU was as inefficient as could be on their 90 offensive plays. LSU had the ball for 42 minutes and Florida for 13. I’m definitely not saying that Florida has not improved because I absolutely think they have improved and I think that’s a credit to their coach Billy Napier that they have gotten better and they have shown fight and they haven’t quit. That being said they effectively should’ve been beat against LSU and LSU just didn’t complete their drives. You can’t have 90 plays and almost 42 minutes of the ball and not score consistently. That’s just poor on LSU part not finishing off.. I give credit to where credits do well Florida defense was affective when it needed to be . while not great was the offense was effective in the critical moments of the game that they needed to be good and credit to DJ Lagway as a true freshman for standing in the pocket and making some fantastic throws . Florida has a really good chance to go six and six which honestly from the beginning of the season after watching them to now I would’ve said there’s no way they win six games but I’m very impressed how those kids have not quit and Napier is shown that his kids will come out and play hard. That’s a credit to the coach and the players kudos to them.

As a Gator fan, at times I hate our own fanbase...zero patience...I couldn't believe people were calling for his job after the second loss we should've thought would be the case given our ridiculous schedule this season...Napier, like any coach, should automatically get four years, at minimum, to get his guys in the pipes...you hired him for a reason...why give up on him so soon. Now, that said, when you're at a program like Florida, you play the best player, period...I get you may have loyalty to a guy that transferred in vs a true freshman...but Lagway has been head and shoulders better than Mertz...so, he brought it on himself. DJ may have been a difference maker against Texas AM...and had he not gotten injured, I truly believe we beat UGA...so, in that regard, and in the portal age where players have no loyalties, Napier too needs to set his loyalties with the win column and not the class structure that has long been the way teams lean...upperclassmen before under classmen...certainly you need leaders...but now-a-days, you need wins above all else. So, it's without blame on Billy for his predicament. If anyone needs to be fired, it's Scott Strickland...he's far from Jeremy Foley...perhaps one of the best AD's of any school, any time. Strickland torpedoed his recruiting this season for not coming out and quieting the knuckheads sooner.

Beginning of the season, yes this team looked awful but something snapped in this team and it's hard to explain but this isn't the same Florida team that started the season.
