Really happy to not see the final Cal touchdown but super happy to spend 45 seconds watching the fullback say it's ok bro to the QB, then the sort of cool but not really sideline celebration, and especially to see the Wake Forest coach look at his paper for a while and tick some boxes before the final kneeldown. In the last 10 years, Cal only has 2 season with 8 or more wins. They have more people with Nobel prizes there than guys who have gone to the NFL and had more than a 2 year career. Its not really the school's focus and they're not going to drop millions on 5 star NIL deals. Like Stanford, occasionally they stumble into a good coach, who can steal some 3 and 4 star guys out from under the big west coast schools, but its what I call a "lily pad" school. If you're coaching at Cal, you were probably in a non-BCS conference before or were an assistant somewhere before. If you're a good coach at Cal, you're looking to "hop" to a better football situation (Tedford went to the NFL, Dykes went to TCU, and so on). For reference... Jim McElwain is the example of a "lily pad" coach. - O Coordinator at Bama - Goes to Colorado St. and gets them winning (CSU being the lily pad) - Hops to being the HC at Florida - It doesn't pan out at UF and now he's the HC at C. Michigan... and has them winning I cut out like 4 more hops before his time at Bama but the way the Chippewas are playing the last few years, expect him to hop to a BCS job here again soon.

That interception Wake threw while driving down only 3 points was inexcusable. You HAVE to protect and preserve that drive; not throw into triple coverage at midfield and flatline all your momentum while at your own stadium. Bachmier isn't usually that wreckless but essentially cost them the game there.
