There’s no doubt Rodri has been the best and most consistent player for City in the past 2 or 3 seasons. It’s hard to find direct replacement for players like Busquet and Rodri. What you do is replace them with a system. It’s part of the reason Barca suffered a lot last season, Pep is an experienced manager I’m so he’s gonna come up with a solution. It’s the same way when people were questioning Flick and Barca to have spent money on a DM and not on Olmo, in the end Flick knows he doesn’t have to play a single pivot.

Last season all 3 of their defeats when he was suspended and yes it’s true that Erling Haaland is scoring goals for fun they have a lot of talent in their team (Kevin de Bruyne Phil Foden Savinho Jeremy Doku Jack Grealish Ilkay Gundogan Bernardo Silva Ruben Dias Manuel Akanji Josko Gvardiol Rico Lewis Kyle Walker etc) and they won their first couple of games of the season without him but how can they go a full season without the best CDM in the world when they’ll be playing against much better opposition as the season progresses which means that they could drop a significant number of points and his absence in the team will be noticeable since he’s the one who makes everything tick for them his presence in the team makes everyone around him better and they’re able to elevate their game as Pep Guardiola is going to find solutions, he could tinker something in the team and also the January transfer window means that they could go in the market and sign a defensive midfielder to cover for him until he returns to fitness. Not to mention that they’re too reliant on Haaland as he’s the only one scoring goals for them consistently and he doesn’t have a natural backup on top of that, he doesn’t have a good injury record at times as when he gets injured, he misses a chunk of games during the season. They didn’t sign a backup striker for him in the summer transfer window. When you factor in his long term injury, their record without him and their title rivals looking very good on paper, City winning the title it could still happen, it’s not going to be as easy as we think it’ll be. Nobody would even be talking about a potential title race this season if it wasn’t for his ACL injury as people think that these guys would run away with the league again, now, the title race so open and this is whether it’s Liverpool or Arsenal this is their best opportunity to actually end their dominance this time around as that’s good for the competitive balance of the league until he comes back from injury or they get relegated to League Two before coming back to the Premier League. I don’t want to see anyone tore their ACL, at the same time, it’s a blessing in disguise for the premier league because from the perspective of the fans, you want to see a high level of competition and a proper title challenge instead of watching the same team dominating the league year in year out since the premier league as this is supposed to be the “best league in the world” and if City are able to win the title without Rodri, then the premier league is an absolute joke of a football league.

Rodri is most certainly a loss for City. But anyone claiming this will ruin City’s season are not paying close attention. City are absolutely stacked in the midfield with Kovacic, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Foden, Silva, Grealish, Doku, Savinho, Nunes, and Bobb (when he returns from injury). City already have a style of play where the likes of Lewis, Akanji, and Stones all essentially drop into the defensive midfielder role when City are in possession. It's basically like a form downgrade button for a player. He might still have the same instincts and football smarts, but the fact that he may never feel he can fully trust that knee again and will always fear another injruy recurrence means he's never going to go full tilt like before the injury. Thank goodness for City that Michael Oliver is still healthy!

Well he thought about going to strike, and he got way more than that.

I think City will be fine. First of all, I don't believe any of the challengers are as good, say, as Liverpool were between '18 and '20. In other words, I don't see Arsenal nor Liverpool getting 90+ points. More importantly, let's look at City depth. They have Walker, Lewis, Akanji, Dias, Stones, Gvardiol, and Ake. In attack, they have Grealish, Doku, Haaland, Savinho, Foden, and KDB. In midfield, they have Kova, Bernardo, and Gundogan. In midfield, they can pick two out of Kova, Bernado, and Gundogan and one of KDB and Foden as an AM. And against weak teams, they can play both Foden and KDB in midfield. City will still win the league.

It was okay when Bernardo Silva while playing left back in a game against Arsenal spent the whole game kicking Bukayo. It is okay for a 6 ft Rodri tried to physically block K Havertz from running across the line without the ball and it is a false for Havertz to body check him? When Arsenal played beautifully and lost an odd game they were called soft. Now, everyone wants them to be nice? I love version of Arsenal where John McGinn lathers the ball into W Saliba and Ben White gives him the taste of his own medicine.

Now Steve, remember what you said when United had all those injuries? "Injuries are not an excuse!" LOLOL!

ESPN has given Ballon d’or like 10 times to Rodri😂😂😂🤡

Manchester City should go for Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace in January. He'll be a better fit for Manchester City as a young player for the future. Instead of going to splash lots of money on other players.

But Arsenal became defensive after the red card. After 15 minutes Arsenal was good, building and growing in the game until the red card.

City will find a way. The worst thing you can do is to underestimate them.

not sure Ale watches arsenal cause Havertz does shithousery all the time.

Every game city doesn’t convincingly win, ESPN will use to go on a rant about how much Rodri deserves the ballon dor

"in contention and will probably win the balon d'or" Wasn't even Spain's best midfielder. Wasn't even City's best player.

He and bernardo need to man up instead rolling on the pitch everytime.

If one bad game and losing 1 important player is enough to derail City's season, then i don't they should have ever won a title ever. I actually think the anger against Arsenal could add to their motivation.

Says players may need to strike over too many games Fields are more artificial turf and less grass lately so they can take more punishment from more games Tears ACL from being hit by a r@p1st while stepping bad on said pitch
