They've finally hit the nail on the head. The Glazers is a far wider issue, but the players' lack of confidence and application is the biggest problem. Most of these players were part of the team which finished 2nd in 2020, and you don't finish 2nd in EPL if you are not talented. Maguire is an established international, Shaw was the best left back in England in 2020, Bruno was excellent during his first year, Rashford was such a threat when he burst into the scene, Sancho was a superstar at BD. The fact that all of these players are not playing even 50% of what they have done in the past is baffling.

I find it bizarre that all these guys have slagged off Arsenal for years, rightly in most cases, but they turned it around by getting rid of executive who spent badly and whose intentions were maybe self serving, got rid of problem players, got a young manger with something to prove and stuck with him, stated their intention to focus on youth moving forward and to install a strong work ethic and kindred spirit to produce good attacking football. How is this not getting a mention of a blueprint. Arsenal are now 2 years ahead of United in the ‘big fix’ and it deserves some credit.

Spending the clubs money and not theirs is an American business strategy so if the club goes broke or files for bankruptcy their funds are intact and untouched. So they spend their personal money but write it off as a loan to the club which they take back with interest, that way it doesn't seem like they don't spend money on the club. Example; maguire was bought for 80+, the glazers would take back 100 or more (Ownership allowance, transfer fee spent and interest on the deal)

Unfortunately, Erik will likely play the same players. Preseason, bailly, varane, malacia were all getting regular playing time and the team was showing signs of adapting. All of a sudden, they can’t seem to get any chance. Ronaldo was not there. Everything was faring better. Why still keep him when he asked to go away. That was a horrible decision by the club. Also, De gea already is not good at playing out from the back, why would the club allow dean go without the manager getting to see him play. If heaton is more comfortable playing out from the back, I’d prefer he starts the next game. Many of these players need to be benched.

You start with a monster center half who organizes the defence and takes no prisoners and of course you start with a really good goalkeeper who can play the ball out which has become so important these days and also organizes the defence. The captain shouldn't be either he should be a midfielder who can organize everyone else, but each of those three players have to be so involved in the game and refuse to accept mistakes that lead to goals. Before you think about scoring goals you have to have a system in place to stop the opposition from scoring goals. Pressing, filling in the lanes fouling at the right time competing for the ball with intensity having the right attitude. Sometimes it's better that the opposition has the ball, that way when you are attacking and give the ball away at a bad moment you don't get caught out, and maybe become a counter attacking team yourselves. The problem with this Man Utd team is they are trying to fly before they can walk they have too many players who believe they are difference makers instead of players who are willing to put the work in and deal with the basics, the fundamental stuff. They keep adding players but they don't fit the system, the reason they don't fit the system is because a system doesn't seem to have been established. You add players to improve within a system you don't add a bunch of players and then try and figure out what system they should be playing.
