Lerma split our lines with multiple passes today and Wharton is known to do that as well. When Bruno or any player that's not Eriksen tries that it doesn't get past the first defender, it's so off target the player has to go away from goal to get it, or it goes out of bounds. That level of quality alone in a couple of young, athletic players would make a HUGE difference. United’s Premier League season is over. There's no chance of finishing in the top six, and Ruben Amorim’s tactics just haven’t worked with the squad he has. Maybe his system isn’t suited for the Premier League, or maybe he just doesn’t have the right players for it. I remember when Klopp took over Liverpool mid-season after Rodgers got sacked. They struggled under him at first and finished 8th. It took a few seasons for Klopp to adjust, clear out players who didn’t fit (Benteke, Balotelli, Kolo Touré, Ings, Clyne), and bring in key players like Mané, Salah, Van Dijk, and Fabinho. That rebuild turned Liverpool into a winning machine. Amorim is now in a similar position-stuck with a squad full of deadwood. His focus now has to be on winning the Europa League to get back into the Champions League. And honestly, they have a shot. But next season, this squad needs a full reboot. If it were up to me, I’d clear out: Maguire Luke Shaw (Too injury-prone) Lindelöf Evans Mount (Just not working out) Casemiro (Brilliant in his first season, terrible since) Eriksen (Age has caught up with him, not the same player from Spurs) Zirkzee Antony ((Already out on loan, should be moved permanently) Rashford (Already out on loan, should be moved permanently) As for who to keep: Onana (One more season to prove himself) De Ligt Dalot (As a backup) Malacia (Just back from a long injury, deserves a chance) Martínez (Injury-prone, but could be a solid backup) Garnacho (Needs to stop being selfish, but I’d give him another season) Fernandes (Will keep him but Man Utd need to find a replacement for him soon.) I would suggest that MU concentrate on Europa League and reach the final. Next season they can qualify to Premier League again maybe even winning Championship. It’s sounds like a good plan for them. IMHO.
