The man was tired. Greatest Liverpool manager of my lifetime but true to his brain and heart, he recognised that his time was done and the the club needed fresh ideas. We should be forever grateful for what he did and for leaving LFC in the best condition any manager has left any club. ❤

So surprising everyone is calling this CL format boring. This has been way more fun than watching city play 1 decent team twice and then 2 nothing teams twice and be able to predict every group outcome every time This is been so fun to see every game unpredictable.
@mikeydflyingtoasterКүн бұрын
That's fair enough. I am glad to see these pundits feel free to say what they want about the new format though.
@northeuКүн бұрын
"Boring" is just code for Lazy journalists, in the old system they could have written 90% of their copy for the group stage on the day of the draw while not even having to bother watching half the games.
@talisa222Күн бұрын
I love this format too. The fact that you have to keep an eye on everyone's results and not just your own group's also makes it way more fun and layered. Everyone's results affects your position. It doesn't hurt that this year already had some banger games.
@infostudy10115 сағат бұрын
Agreed. The jeopardy is there as well because City are struggling to qualify and even if they do have to play two extra games just to make last 16.

As a Liverpool fan of 46yrs. Love Jurgen Klopp big time of of our greatest managers. A humble man who achieved more than he knows. Turned "doubters into believers." Put our club back on the map. Also left the club in a great position. I'll never forget him singing Arne Slot's name at Anfield. What manager leaving does that? He'll always have a place in my heart. Where Slot is concerned, I'm loving the ride an it's great being a RED right now. YNWA97❤

Top team gets a mini trophy and a cash bonus. Then 1st plays 16th, 2nd 15th etc... in the last 16, the rest are booted out. This way it become important where you finish, not just that you qualify.
@jasperlawrence5361Күн бұрын
the CL format now is superior to the old one, and I like that teams are not ringfenced by country or prior opponent or group opponents. I miss Klopp, he rested LFC to their 70s and 80s glory, the team was the best I have ever watched for a few years in the mid to late teens. Beautiful football, a charismatic manager and edge or your seat title races stolen from him and us by the most corrupt team in European history. 115, 132, whatever that number is with respect to Man City conviction has to be the result, because wall read the emails and know they are guilty. The result of conviction has to be demotion and the stripping of titles, and honours. Because City were far more corrupt than Juventus, et al were in the Calciopoli affair, and should be dealt with in the same manner, with the same severity.

I am still not over Klopp, Slot has been lucky MC and Arsenal haven't been at their best and he's carried on Jurgen's good work, but I just don't feel the same way about Slot as I did with Jurgen, there isn't the same fan connection, or the same passion. Some managers just have that special something, they align with the supporters, unless we get Alonso or Milner I don't think we'll ever feel a bond that good again.

As a Liverpool fan, the longer this went on, the more a slight feeling of dread crept over me.
@allemetzl16 сағат бұрын
You guys forgot all the old format games (and poule stage ranks 1-4) that you could fill in before a single game was played. This concept is 10x more exciting (each game counts!) and designed for upsets, so fully disagree with the comments made in the pod.

You have to really give likes of van dijk, salah for these sort of transition.. no matter what manager system or players they work with.. they adapt and still come on top.. their mentality is different.. the real transition for Liverpool is how they move on from this guys and still stay on top because everyone knows Liverpool owners are not like Chelsea, utd, and city who throw money.. I feel if these two don’t stay that’s where it gets tricky and difficult..no doubt about slot and his talent as well but I have high doubts with fsg as owners .. they do win titles but are the main reason Liverpool wont dominate like city or utd of old.. people can have a go at me with new midfield and nunez, Diaz transfer but it’s was necessary due to firmino, mane leaving and Henderson, keita, ox, Milner, Thiago gone on free.. it’s not stockpiling like how city is doing rn with grealish ,doku marmoush,savinho.. and Chelsea with nkunku , sancho, felix, now probably garnacho and another 95 mil guy .. and btw everyone here knows utd will go big again in summer

As so many they make the big mistake to underestimate Dutch football, apparently they didn’t watch a lot of world and euro cups the last 4 decades but the Dutch play’d better football than the English since people can remember. Even this so called English golden generation could barely beat the Dutch worst team ever. You have the people and TV money but we and other foreigners bring the football to the PL. Same with Feyenoord, you have no idea, real fans are from the city, Rotterdam is twice as big as Liverpool and the Kuip The Feyenoord stadium is 4 times as intense as Anfield, you people have no idea (and I do and this Feyenoord fan was not impressed at and with Anfield, Arn-uh will sooner or later give you people that reality check, he’s been nice only up to now.

When I found out that Jurgen was resigning, my first reaction was relief that he was leaving. No doubt he raised Liverpool's profile and gave us plenty of famous victories. But quite often we kept losing or struggling against the lesser teams. That bugged me.
