The difference between Hooxi and the other IGLs is that Hooxi is a MUCH worse caller than the IGLs he frags close to. He's not winning multiple rounds a game by calling and reading alone which players like Karrigan and Aleksib consistently do. The eye test of impact is also much worse.

This is the more nuanced view. Most people talking about HooXi's fragging are not actually bringing up the eye test. Quacke's opinion piece is a response to those who blindly point at stats and complain.

You're just wrong about almost everything Without counting Spring Finals bcuz of the monesy situation : G2 has made every single playoffs and have only been knockout by either the finalist or the event winner , something no team has done , and it isn't just Monesy , bcuz both Vitality and Spirit failed to have the same consistency . So AleksiB and Karrigan make calls that win multiple rounds in a row , how do you know Hooxi isn't doing the same ? How do you know that they actually made those exact calls , this is just pure speculations for this season , I can see some Karrigan calls in the dying moments of a few maps here and there ... There is no such thing as eye test of impact : -There is eye test which is something you use to spot someone with good mechanics but because of roles or luck or a mental problem , his abilities are not reflected well in the stats , something you can say about Twistzz when he was on Faze or Nertz now . -There is also impact which is something the HLTV algo do measure well but you can also confirm it by watching the game and seeing how many round winning plays certain players do which is pretty rare for IGLs due to the limitations of their roles on the map and their skill limitations Hooxi is mechanically bad , but his calling is solid , his playbook is good as well , not at the Karrigan level , but he's a better IGL than Snax and every other Tier 2 IGL at that and he works well with stars better than AleksiB has ever done .

the hooxie alexi comparison doesn't work at all for me. look at the pieces around them. alexi might have a bad performance as well with some better spots but there is not even a serious discussion about who did a better job so far in my opinion. navi got a major (thanks jl) as an outlier but a consistent good performance and g2 had a single win when hooxi wasn't at the tournament with doing nothing but underperform otherwise. w0nderful is doing an amazing job but if you compare the teams.. I would say most people would say the team with m0nesy, niko, hunter should not be disappointing in comparison to navi from any angle. I am a navi and alexi fan but I don't think my bias is influencing this a lot. I have no idea how snax and the new g2 as a whole will do but I hope it works out. I like all the players, just for that sake I hope it works out. I actually think snax will for alright because it is in g2 with those pieces.
