amazing video which helped me strip down and put the pump back together with ease (especially when the springs flew out so I needed to work out which one went where).

This video was so helpful. I am making a KZbin video on a simplified explanation of how an expresso machine works. I would like to request permission to add an image (or a clip) in my video, whichever you prefer. Please let me know if you would allow this. I can link or credit your video if you wish. Thanks!

Hi there, Great video but am I right in thinking that all of the pressure is developed by the spring tension as the magnetic field is effectively turned off so that all the magnetic flux is allowed to collapse and if so, what kind of resistance would you expect to see in a 230V coil in the forward biased mode?

Mystery solved. I was wondering how it works, because there's no noise at all.

because it doesn't work.

@@maxfactor4209 Why wouldn’t it? If combined with vibration they would turn into a pump...

@@naronaroyan323 they're massively more complicated and much more leaky than a standard check valve (a simple ball and spring)
@naronaroyan3233 жыл бұрын
@@arg31ify But the plus side is that they don’t have any moving parts and if used properly could be a nice solution. Like perhaps if it was spinning..? 🤷♂️
@arg31ify3 жыл бұрын
@@naronaroyan323 they require far more machining and would be a nightmare to clean. And despite what youtube/fun articles have told you they really really don't work they act more as a flow reducer/restrictor than a check valve. There's a reason they're not used at all by anyone for anything outside of labs for microfluidics
