I really want to use this product, develop some apps, but I find that the level of complexity, lack of tutorial and a road map for development leaves a lot to be desired.

Listening in, how are "Polygon" such as crocodile cracking or pothole patching - which are "areas" considered as Point Event? They may be irregular and varying state, may traverse through Lanes. How are the lanes managed? Is each carrigeway direction has chainage? How is section/ segments defined or managed - due to varying width or surface material or in future when it is partially renewed? How is dynamic segmentation works for physically change of network due to renewals of surface?
