In this video I look at Michel Rene Barnes' book, The Power of God: A Study of Gregory of Nyssa's Trinitarian Theology, and consider it's relevance to the issue of an essence/energy distinction in God.
I also focus on the need to define theological terms paradigmatically, and not in isolation, with passing reference to Dr Gyorgy Gereby's paper on Theistic fallacies:

the problem with contemporary Greek-Orthodox theologians is their willingness to dogmatize a particular theological tradition, by chosing this or that staement of selected authors and nothing else, while constantly contraposing that reconstructed tradition with the Western one - the problem is the hubrys of willing to have the 'true' tradition - but then, all this talk about the specificity of the Greek tradition makes no sense when we realize that Thomism is but a narrow theological tradition of the medieval West, with very few followers nowadays - moreover, and more significantly, the truth is that the Latin Church during the first centuries had very similar positions about divine light and divinization as those we find in the Eastern tradition - and it would be good that Greek-Orthodox people cease gaslighting people about the divine excellence of the Greek Fathers, by starting to recognize that similarity - and perhaps they should begin reading the Latin Fathers and talking about the riches of their thought in order to sound less sectarian...

Well, it was actually the Palamite councils of 1341-1351 that dogmatized this particular metaphysical tradition for the East. As evidenced by the second week of Great Lent being dedicated as the Sunday of St. Gregory Palamas and his theology, honoring him and this tradition in the Divine Liturgy. A central role not equally shared with any other metaphysical tradition. Perhaps our Latin friends could begin reading the lectionaries and liturgies of the East as well as all of our councils. This might help broaden their understanding of the Eastern tradition as a whole and potentially prevent any further gaslighting from their side as well.

The Hebrew Gadrael is pronounced phonetically “god”. Yet Gad according to the book of Enoch is a fallen Angel. God is dog backwards and Dog-mat-eyes (dogmatise). The Hebrew Alpha-bet is also Greek Alpha-bet(a) backwards in reverse, literally.

You just may have autism. I'm not doubting the truth of my claim. Everything you said is an insane stretch from the linguistics, you don't know how languages work. Because gad is pronounced God does not allude to the idea that God in every sense must be about the pagan deity Gad. Correlation isn't causation. Check out inspiring philosophy!
