I don’t go for either team, but I can agree that the umpires were shit. Yes, Essendon got the bad side of the umpiring, but there was no bias included, the umpires were shit to both teams. It would be different if it were a Victorian team versus a team from another state, because we all know the umpires are told to favour Victorian teams, but these are both Victorian teams, so I think the umpiring was just shit altogether. Unfortunately there were a few trash decisions made against Essendon right at the end of the game, so I can see, from a bombers point of view, why they would be upset and boo at the end if a game. Any team would. But to boo when the BOG is making a speech is one thing, to boo the BOG after he’s just thanked the crowd is another thing, but to boo the BOG after he’s just thanked the crowd on ANZAC day? @@afl6459 they weren't rigged.......go back and watch the full match impartially, you'll see poor umpiring against both sides.......Essendon made so many mistakes and Collingwood capitalised, Cooling were the better team on the day. I'll call a bad call when I see it even if it's going my club's way, but that game was poor umpiring both ways. On a side note, the unjustified frees that Collingwood did get, didn't result on us getting a goal, however the ones that the dons got did result in dons getting a goal. That also goes for frees not paid......Dons should have played better. Don't blame the umpires......a game is rarely ever won or lost due to poor umpiring......just remember that. A team has 4 quarters to play the game, they have that much time to get a higher score than their opponents.

Umpire allowed play on. Just a few gems that fell in the favour of Essendon today. Perhaps Collingwood fans can make a case that they should have won by more if not for the umpiring mistakes. Free kick count was 14-17 so it’s not even a major deficit favouring one side either. Essendon technically kicked 3 of 10 goals from free kicks. Collingwood kicked 0 goals from free kicks.
