You can also boil in the bag with most vacuum bags I've used, and none of the zip bags. That was the best, to throw leftovers together into one bag, then heat them up in boiling water later, maybe even alongside fresh pasta. I encourage you to think about series, so this might be Essentials #--, and they could go into a good playlist. Same for Buying Tips #--, Tour '--. Hi Paul, I think you will really enjoy the vacuum sealer. I have purchased two of the Foodsaver brand. I would be totally lost without one of them. You can reuse the bags. Totally up to you if you do or not. Just wash them throughly. I always freeze any meats I plan to vacuum seal first. You don’t want any juice to go into the motor or it won’t seal and could ruin the sealer. Just go through the info you received plus there is loads of information online. Enjoy

Vacuum sealers are great! Allows small households to take advantage of bigger package savings and keeps the food fresh. With the price of food you can't afford to waste anything! I have seen some small more manually-operated sealers that I'm not sure how they work but they're quite a bit smaller so if someone really didn't have space in their rig for one of the what I would call full-size vacuum sealers they may want to take a look at one of those options to give sealing a try before investing in a larger and more expensive unit. I'm glad yours is working well for you. I wonder if the banana has some air pockets because you sealed it on the soft setting and it didn't compress the food as much (and obviously you wouldn't want it too) but I don't know if that's possibly why that happened? If you want to seal some fruit, what I've seen some other folks do is actually freeze the fruit first and then seal it. That way you can get a tighter seal on the fruit because you don't have to worry about it being soft and getting damaged. Just a thought.

Hey there Paul, miss seeing your videos showing up on my notifications. How have you been doing? I have been working on building my channel. It's a tough but interesting adventure. Anyway, how all is well with you. Take care. Jen
