You can also boil in the bag with most vacuum bags I've used, and none of the zip bags. That was the best, to throw leftovers together into one bag, then heat them up in boiling water later, maybe even alongside fresh pasta. I encourage you to think about series, so this might be Essentials #--, and they could go into a good playlist. Same for Buying Tips #--, Tour '--. People like to complete things that are part of a series. Thanks for continuing to do things and video them! :-)

Hi Paul, I think you will really enjoy the vacuum sealer. I have purchased two of the Foodsaver brand. I would be totally lost without one of them. You can reuse the bags. Totally up to you if you do or not. Just wash them throughly. I always freeze any meats I plan to vacuum seal first. You don’t want any juice to go into the motor or it won’t seal and could ruin the sealer. Just go through the info you received plus there is loads of information online. Enjoy

FoodVacBags is a great place to get bags for a reasonable price. Rolls or pre-made. Good service and sometimes they have sales. I reuse bags. I put the food in cheap! plastic food storage bags (not zip lock - just plain bags) then into the vacuum bags. Then you can easily throw away the cheapie, and wash out and reuse the good one.

Vacuum sealers are great! Allows small households to take advantage of bigger package savings and keeps the food fresh. With the price of food you can't afford to waste anything! I have seen some small more manually-operated sealers that I'm not sure how they work but they're quite a bit smaller so if someone really didn't have space in their rig for one of the what I would call full-size vacuum sealers they may want to take a look at one of those options to give sealing a try before investing in a larger and more expensive unit. I'm glad yours is working well for you. I wonder if the banana has some air pockets because you sealed it on the soft setting and it didn't compress the food as much (and obviously you wouldn't want it too) but I don't know if that's possibly why that happened? If you want to seal some fruit, what I've seen some other folks do is actually freeze the fruit first and then seal it. That way you can get a tighter seal on the fruit because you don't have to worry about it being soft and getting damaged. Just a thought.

I went to Costco last week to get some rib eyes. Choke, choke, they wanted $85 for a tray which used to cost $30 something last year! Inflation sucks! I ended up buying a tray of chuck steaks.

Hi Michel, if I were going to buy a new rack it would be the RV Rider by Hollywood Racks.

With the banana it could be off-gassing as it gets older causing air, if you had put in an oxygen absorber I wonder if that would help, I don't even know if they would be good to put in with a banana. Another great show Paul. Happy travels.

That banana thing was really cool..why did you peel it? Were you going to freeze it, later? I wonder how it would work with those pesky avocados. Lots of questions, I know..got a curious mind!

Hi Paul, first I must say you are looking really healthy, not sure what your doing mate, but it's good for you. Steak and Nana,s, my favorite food. For those like me outside of the states, is it possible to add a wee bit of outside footage and some idea where you are in the country, and even a little on what the location is known for. Cheers mate, take care. B&B in nz.

If the banana hasn't been in the freezer, just vacuum sealed, it's probably off-gassing causing the "air" pocket.
