@davidoneill29836 жыл бұрын
please make a part 2!! include more about the other activities within 30min-1hr drive of whistler. more on the food and beer. different trails around? squamish? what to expect with crowds etc maybe show a map and discuss how to get around :D I'm from Australia and I've ridden heaps in southern hemisphere but i'm a clueless noob when it comes to Canada. I'll defs be going there asap!

Thanks for the suggestions! Yup, you gotta get yourself to Canada.

Yes Squamish/Fromme guide please Mr Loam! I used your previous Whistler guide just last week and it worked like a charm, many thanks for that. Gonna hit either Squamish or Fromme in September so could use a guide, and if there are actual guided rides you could suggest as well, that would be great!

@TheLoamRanger6 жыл бұрын

@hobmarg6 жыл бұрын
Gloves don't help with sore hands... in order of importance: 1) Tire pressure 2) Suspension (esp. fork) setup 3) Grips 4) Alignment of your brake/shifters on the bar so wrists are in a good position 5) Relax your hands, don't deathgrip.

If I was to plan a "bucket list" trip to Whistler, what's the best time of the year to book for safe weather? I know nothing is guaranteed, but I'd hate to fly halfway around the globe for terrible weather!!! I'm also torn about avoiding Crankworx, or experiencing it. Don't want to be stuck in hour long lift lines and ride chewed up trails and have no hotel rooms available etc....

Excellent info, thank you! Question, if you DO need to get replacement parts, which bike shop options are there? Is it worth a drive to go somewhere because it’s much cheaper than the resort? Thanks.
@hobmarg6 жыл бұрын
Prices are the same roughly at most shops in the village and down to Squamish. You can call around and see if something is on sale but generally it's pretty hard to save money other than ordering online. Even in Vancouver prices are roughly the same. I would call Fanatykco, Arbutus Routes, Coastal Culture, Evolution Sports for part prices in Whistler before going to the GBB owned by the resort for example.

I’d say go when all zones are open to get the most out of the mountain, including the Peak Zone for the Top Of The World Trail. So late July to early September would be ideal, IMO.
