As an HR intern, you work with people, so you need excellent communication skills. An HR intern needs excellent verbal and written skills and learning how to navigate between different stakeholders. Communication also includes listening and empathizing as well. It is the ability to understand people and their problems and pinpoint when someone is dishonest.

From where I see it, I think you are eligible for an HR Internship. However, appearing in a certification or two will help boost your resume. Recruiters and talent acquisition specialists look for specific skills such as compensation and benefits specialist, diversity and inclusion professionals and more. So that's my suggestion. In the end, do what you think is best.
