Thank you for this video! I have a trip planned in 2 weeks and was watching your video while eating lunch just to prepare for the trip. Got to the e-visa section, and nearly choked on my food because I didn't even think about a visa LOL. Immediately went online and got the e -visa approved super fast (literally within 10 seconds). Thanks for including the link to the e-visa too! For context: I'm from the USA, but my flight is from Greece to Turkey. And apparently Greek nationals dont need visas, so I didnt see any type of warning to get a Turkey visa when booking my flight. Lesson learned!!!

I have traveled to Kapadokya in end of September to early October: if you are in inland area (eg Anatolia), there’s a big temperature difference between night and day- could go as high as the high 20s Celsius, but midnight thru early mornings could drop to 10 or even lower Celsius. When we were in Istanbul the temperature is between higher 10s and low 20s Celsius, and I would recommend an autumn jacket if you are on boat tours in Bosphorus because it could get windy and little bit nippy. Depending on when you come here and which regions to visit, you should check their monthly averages. A lot of European/American tourists seem to be quite fit for any weather and run around in an all-weather wind breaker and a pair of shorts… if you are one of them, you should be okay with light clothing and worst comes worst- lots of clothing brands to choose from in any mall you visit and they are within the affordable range.

Another tip: don’t book a flight on the first of May (Labour Day) especially if you are staying around Taksim. In recent years, public and private transport has been shut down, in the entire area, sometimes even down to Besiktas and including ferries. They want to prevent people from gathering there to protest. It’s OK if you are already there. You can enjoy walking around the otherwise busy streets. Just avoid Taksim / Istiklal street as they will most probably not be accessible.
@vchaks Жыл бұрын
Hi, i just saw this and my flight is booked for 1 may unfortunately. And i am staying in Taksim. How do you suggest I travel to the airport?
@dudethadude4382 Жыл бұрын
Its not actually to stop the protests in general, they happen in many places every year but its just to stop them in that area in particular since it negatively affects many many unrelated people. There are designated areas for protests especially for this reason, so they dont ruin others' days or maybe even lives sometimes

@a1asdairpage2 жыл бұрын
Actually, a general toilet tip - if you need at pretty much any time, and you're in Beyoğlu - is find a Mado. They're happy for non-paying customers to just use the toilet (it's usually upstairs) and they're open late. And they're clean (much cleaner than McDonald's).

I saw many European register plates in Turkey bit if you are heading there first time with your own car like I was, maybe these are more or less helpful tips... You will need to buy HGS sticker from PTT office. You will need it at least when you enter to the highway or some bridges also I think. Most times if not always, there is staff who fill your car tank and if you need to pay with card and go inside, you will get a recipe what you need to give for that person who filled your tank so he/she knows that you paid it. I didn't know it first and they didn't spoke good English but there came one young customer who told me what was wrong and everything went well. There can be stray dogs on the highways aswell so be aware for everything. I saw only once though when I was driving back to Izmit from Bursa. There is some useful phone numbers shown time to time on the side of the highways and if you can, write those down if you can or you have someone with you. I was driving alone so I couldn't do that but I hoped that nothing will happen even I had a lot kilometres already behind me. I was driving from Finland and I couldn't have enough time to have all maintenance for my car. So sadly I can't tell those phone numbers. If you are not used to drive in the driving culture like Turkey , I recommend to leave next location early as possible so there is as less as possible traffic. You will save your nerves and at least you can drive easier in one place. Google maps worked well in there at least for me. In Bosnia and Herzegovina it didn't work so well but that's a different story. But all in all it was an amazing trip.
