I just went to Japan from August 3-12. I visited Tokyo, Hiroshima, Kyoto and Osaka! I was there when the quake hit, even receiving the alert on my phone. I know I was far away and did not feel it. My trip was great! I used the Welcome Suica card with no problems. I do see that the Yen is getting stronger. I did a lot of shopping!

Hi Toshi! I got to visit Japan before the world lockdown in 2020. I got to explore the main sights. I went back in 2023 and explored huge amounts of Kyushu. Kyushu is so untouched. I have a deep interest in learning about the kofun period, and will return to explore more of the kofun period. I plan to fly back in autumn 2025 and explore more central Japan, and of course Kyushu again..I feel like I've seen a lot of Japan other tourists haven't. I hope to tell the story of Japan through filmmaking too.

Hi Toshi, Arigato Gozaimasu for the information. It is a shame that a few bad tourists ruin everything for the good tourists. I can kind of understand the deer thing as the deer can get very aggressive especially near where you purchase the deer crackers. The employees definitely need to something about the aggressive deer. That new spot near Narita airport sounds intriguing and maybe will be a must visit spot when it opens. Definitely not much to do around Narita right now as it is.

Thank you for your friendly comment. As you mentioned, most of tourists are nice, but the influence of a few tourists is changing Japanese culture and affecting everyone... It' so sad... There is really nothing around Narita Airport. So I also really look forward to Gateway Narita.

Thanks Toshi for the information. I am very interested in the pre-entry procedures. Even though for Italy I see it as difficult that it will be introduced in January when I have to leave, I would just like to understand but will the pre-procedure be paid by the airports? That is, by the immigration office or will it be paid by the airlines? Then for flights with a stopover will it be enough to do it from the 1st departure airport or will there be further checks at the airport where the stopover takes place? Thanks

Whenever we do travel to Japan, when is an off tourist season ? Meaning the less amount of tourists of the year? What I would do is fly into Tokyo, Exchange currency, buy personal items we need, hit some of the top street venders, get some bento boxes and take a train, ferries and head to the country sides and stay at the old very traditional, as little western influence as possible Ryokans with onsen.

Japan is cool, and after some days we feel also welcome here. One of the greatest challenges in the future will be: Learning English! Nearly no Japanese knows to speak the international language No. 1. And... The Immigration process is one of the most significant "You are not welcome here" Signature for Japan. We need nearly 2 hours by only 2 planes arrived short after midnight. That's ridiculous! And i know what i'm writing, we stay in the philippines... Japan is more worse than the Philippino Airports. Did any Japanese Immigration officer ever make a travel to Singapore?

It seems that there is no desire to create experiences in the new Narita Airport complex, only more shops and places to eat. Another transit hotel is always welcome, but when you look at International Airports in other countries, you see gardens, butterfly houses, cinemas, sleeping pods... Travellers will compare Narita against these airports. Live performances, sport? What does someone who has been in a cramped metal tube want? Peace and quiet; so I am guessing that these noisy facilities are for people in Chiba and not for tourists at all.
