Dear Islam, it is so hard to recommend a single book to start your reading journey. However, 'Soldiers' by John Keegan & Richard Holmes is a damn fine starting point. Search for the illustrated hard cover version via Amazon etc and you won't be disappointed. A television series of the book (or the book is from the TV series; I can't remember) fronted by author Freddie Forsyth is on KZbin.
