I'm very happy you emphasized that NO company is the only company with therapeutic grade oils. I got suckered into those big corporate MLM EO companies like YL. What I look at to make sure it's pure is that each single oil on their site has GC/MS reports that show purity. And usually readily available on their site or if you ask they willingly give you. Good brands are Revive, Plant Therapy, Rocky Mountain Oils, Simply Earth, Eden's Garden, New Directions, Now Foods.
@DiffuserDudeAromatherapy2 жыл бұрын
Yup! I must also use a company that uses GC/MS testing. I am in an aromatherapist certification program and that report is vital to me in MANY ways! Not only for purity but also for therapeutic formulations and blends…also safety! A lot of safety issues with some oils!

I love your diy channel and your accent is beautiful! Thank you!I wanted to add- I loved essential oils and used them in my diy creams, soaps, etc. I started to break out in blisters on my hands. My allergist confirmed that I have contact dermatitis and I'm allergic to all fragrances and essential oils. My body became sensitized to essential oils from overuse. Just something worth mentioning to others, especially if anyone else has eczema that seems to come and go and blister. I would have never thought I could possibly be allergic to essential oils. Great video thanks so much Sophie! I do represent Young Living however there are some oils that we simply don't carry. That said,in response to one of the other comments about 'expensive MLM' products, pricing is very comparable among pure oil distributors. Including doTerra and Young Living. I'm very pleased to know that there are some manufacturers of actual pure oils that have in store product or a retail presence. Around where I live we don't really have that option that I've found. I suppose if I looked harder I would find some but there is definitely something to be said for the convenience of just ordering what you want through a site like Young Living and it is delivered to you just a couple of days later! Thanks again Sophie and keep up the great work! By the way you are gorgeous!

Do you really care about the CEO of any other products that you purchase everyday??? I think not. If Gary Young did something wrong back years ago, so what. None of us are perfect. Gary Young started Young Living over thirty years ago. When nobody knew about essential oils. He had a vision and has never stopped with his vision. Years ago, Gary had a very horrible, almost debilitating logging accident that left him paralyzed for years, being told he would never walk again. After fasting for over two hundred and fifty days, something miraculous happened. He started getting feeling back in his feet. Finally got his life back and chose a path of wellness. He has helped many people. So quit believing false rumors . Give him a break

Hi Sophie - thanks so very much for the Oils 101 video! Not sure if you can answer this question? Tried an MLM brand oils and then switched (after much research) to Florihana, all the oils are Eco-Cert & Organic (like you said, to look for Cert's!) BUT....while the MLM brands will openly say "ingestible" the Florihana brands will not (due to some French laws I believe?). Are these oils the "same" and can be used for cooking & teas, etc like doTerra & YL brands claim you can?? Thanks if you can offer guidance!

Generally, Europe is more strict, so I would think the A Euro Cert is pretty good. A good way to make sure you are getting quality is to make sure you see a "certified organic" label

My strong favorite is YL, though Veriditas is also very good. Though be mindful when comparing price-though Veriditas uses 5ml bottles, their more expensive oils, such as helichrysum or rose, actually contain much smaller amounts. The amount is listed on the bottle (small type), but unless you knew to expect it, or the shop assistant told you (mine didn’t know themselves), you won’t know. As the bottle are all the same size, you think V is a much better deal, but you’re getting sometimes less than half the product.

@@sassyrarebreed9914 hey Sassy, I am not sure if you have found your answers yet, but I would suggest that you look up different associations of aromatherapy around where you live. @andreabontempo6437 жыл бұрын
Betmenica, if you purchase YL oils from Amazon they most likely have been tampered with. Young Living doesn't stand by any of their oils being sold on Amazon. These sellers can dump out the real oil and put something or who knows what in the bottle and put a completely new sealed cap on it so you never know. It's probably not a real YL oil.

@SophieUlianoGorgeouslyGreen7 жыл бұрын
Well, I think the best answer is this: GOOD essential oils, when stored properly, can last a very long time. That means high-quality, therapeutic oil stored in dark bottles, in cool dark environments. Lots of oils are cut with other substances (for instance...water), which would make them more likely to spoil. You can always smell if an essential oil has spoiled, and I'm always testing to make sure before I use any of my collection.

You can buy a book from doterra store and you can read everything about it oils and how to use them and for what diseases. I am looking for other non expensive oils but around the same quality as doterra, I wish i could find.

Amanda Carls, i have been using doterra for a while and the quality is really good, it is expensive if you purchase at retail (that happens when you buy at the store too) you can sing up for the wholesale discount and every order gives you points, i use them often so i have been getting a lot of product fro free, better the buying from somewhere else ;) quality and best price, that's my thing! i can send you samples if you want of the ones i use :) send me a message at erahh@hotmail.com

How to you feel about Young Living? I’ve heard they are the only ones you can get that are fully essential oils.
@SophieUlianoGorgeouslyGreen7 жыл бұрын
Not true. This is how they brainwash people to buy their expensive oils. They are okay, but there are better brands that are organic and less expensive.

Sophie Uliano Thanks so much. You should make another video about essential oils. I feel like they are so much better for your health then candles. I would love to learn more information that wasn’t biased to one particular brand.

What do you think of the doterrra brand?
@mandyjarvis67778 жыл бұрын
M KT I've used doTerra. It's a high quality brand. I can really smell the difference in quality between it and other brands I have bought. I have been looking for a brand in similar quality without the high end retail price tag.
@spfilms20727 жыл бұрын
M KT personally i love it , the quality is amazing and if you use essential oils often then the best way is to be in the loyal program, i have had got credit for all my orders and the shipping too, so i have a lot of free product, this way the prices are better then other retail stores even ebay or amazon, or other brands. i got high quality and best prices this way! but just my thought!

It's a large MLM company, which I don't love - and I don't believe organic. I prefer Mountain Rose Herbs.

Doterra is of highest quality...and my favorite brand of oil!
@Mel-pb5xw7 жыл бұрын
The quality is good but as others have mentioned the multi level marketing set up isn't great & ultimate inflates the prices. You can get just as good quality elsewhere, i.e. those in the video, Eden's Garden, Rocky Mountain, etc, without having to get involved w/ the multi level marketing tactics.

I am loyal to Mountain Rose. They are so pure but ethics is also paramount. Worth every penny and I have compared their oils side-by-side to Doterra and Young Living

do you ingest them? I was wondering if you can like I do doTerra. I am going to Eugene today to their store. The prices are so much better and they are a car ride away, their store looks amazing from what I can tell

Kaye Husko Their quality is made for ingesting too yes! Like the Lemon Balm or Peppermint. I love the Lemongrass and carrot seed oils. Perfect oils for making cough syrups too. It’s my favorite shop to go into and smell everything. I bought their vanilla bean pods and the flavor is amazing

What do you all think of Healing Solutions EO? Are they any good?
@SophieUlianoGorgeouslyGreen6 жыл бұрын
I'm not familiar with that line, Jasmine. But I just went and looked on their site - My rule of thumb is: ALWAYS organic for essential oils. "Pure" and "therapeutic" are two words that have no regulation behind them by any authority, and are tremendously overused. My preference is for lines like Mountain Rose Herbs that aren't an MLM, and are are certified organic.

Out of Aura Cacia, Rocky Mountain Oils, Eden's Garden, and dōTERRA, which would you say is the most pure?
@demolitionFM6 жыл бұрын
Anthony Senouillet idk about two of those brands but I know EG and RMO lets you view their GC/MS reports on their websites to check to see their oils are tested and 100% pure 😁
