Thank you. Your demonstration of a wrapped wire loop was slightly different from others I had seen, it gave me an "Aha!" moment. Haven't had my ears pierced. Not yet, anyway, and I'm 62. But one of my best friends had one of his ears pierced for his 63rd birthday present to himself, so you never know.

I was 13. My Aunt used a needle and thread. I had to move the thread back and forth . in addition, I had to use alcohol to keep it clean and put Vaseline so the thread from drying and pulling. I'm 68 now and still wear my earrings. I never had an infection either.

My mom got my ears first pierced when I was 4 years old. I was 14 and my sister was 12 when she took us to get our 2nd holes done. I was 16 when I got my cartilage done but that has since closed up. I really love your videos. They are really easy to follow and fun to watch.

Great video for new beader’s !! I wish this video had been available when I first started making jewelry. Seeing you make the earrings was still nice .......it is always great to see how someone else makes a pair of earrings! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us !! Also, the way you make your loop before the wire wrap looks easier than the way most other jewelry designers and myself do......I’m going to give your way a try!! See I did learn something new!! Thanks again!! 📿🐾🌸❤️

Pierced ears were just coming into popularity. I was 13 & my aunt did them with a needle, so that is 60 yrs ago. I had a second hole pierced at Claire's about 30? Yrs ago but I have let those grow shut. I hardly ever used that second hole. Love your videos Mary

Susan Thomas does an amazing job showing how to make incredible jewelry. Somehow I have trouble when I cut the wire on rings and other jewelry the trouble I have is I cant really see how you tuck the ends into the loops . is there anyway to do an Extreme closeup of how to tuck the wire into the loops or designs ? I hope you can find a way to show how to do this . unfortunately no matter how many times I watch I cant really see how she does it . but Susan does a great job of explaining why and how things are done as well as show casing all the different tools and bits and pieces and to make all kinds of jewelry.

Great video! Simple and easy to follow. I was wondering what is the material of the headpins and wires, cause i've been buying "satinless steel" to make mine and they are turning black 😭 dont know what a better option would be cause i cant afford real gold or silver. Hope you can help ♥️
@JewelSchool3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mariel, You can get a 'gold over' or 'silver over' headpin. Basically, it's a base metal, like copper, aluminum or brass, which has been coated with gold or silver. These are all usually non-tarnish, but it's important to clean your jewelry no matter what it's made from. There are some spray products out there that you can supposedly spray on your metal to keep it from tarnishing. We've never tried them and can't speak as to whether they work, but a quick internet search might help you with further research on the matter. Here is a link to some headpins: www.jtv.com/search/?Ntt=head+pins&type=products&N=4243964577&Ntk=All?mcid=XSOjsyt Also a good jewelry polishing cloth: www.jtv.com/product/connoisseurs-r-polishing-cloth-kit-2-pack/CCU1?mcid=XSOjsyt

Hey there! Another amazing video! I'm learning sooooo much! At the risk of sounding stupid (which happens a lot!), what material should your head/eye pins be made of? I'm still trying to figure that bit out. The differences between copper, brass, stainless steel, aluminum? What is best to use for ear wires? Sorry if I'm wasting your time.
@JewelSchool3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jonathan! Great question and you are never wasting our time! Most headpins, especially if you make your own are made with 20ga wire. It's sturdy and fits through most bead holes. The material is up to you because it depends on your project and really, your personal preference. Copper and brass are great and give you a nice vintage look. They also can be plated into a variety of vibrant colors. If you want the look of gold and silver without the expense, gold or silver over a base metal (which is usually copper or brass) works too! Your best best is to get samples of all of these wires and try them for yourself to determine what works. Check out these "making headpins" videos from Susan. They may help answer some of your questions. Good Luck! Headpins for beginners and beyond: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6i3hnx9jdCZa68 Make Your Own Headpins: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZKVlqWinJeoi80

I have a question about tools... I saw a kit on Amazon that is for $25 that has the three tools you showed plus a tweezer scooper thing and a couple other things. Are tools tools and it should work fine? When I price individually it much more expensive than that.
@JewelSchool4 жыл бұрын
Hey Carol! I'm sure the kit would work as long as there is a round nose, chain nose and flush cutter!
