as much as practicing obviously is the most important thing, a big component to that sound is the Conn New Wonder II horn he's playing. I have a very similar horn to that and I get a similar sound!

You’re right… what I meant to say was…. This is by far the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen…. They play this music way way better Ellington did himself. In fact I think I’m going to throw out all my Ellington cds and listen now this defining ensemble…. Where go I buy there cds…..?
