Essentially writing my own Zelda game - Part 1

Be veeeeeery careful with fangames and adaptations from Nintendo properties. Nintendo, and more broadly speaking, Japan, is not about that "Fair Use". Make sure you're not infringing any copyright laws before embarking into anything like that, or you'll find yourself fighting a lost battle against Titans, when you could just be making your own story, with your own characters, in your own universe, without having to resort to a previously established franchise.

I don't think he's making a game, is he..? He's just talking. There's thousands of zelda theory videos on youtube, this is none different. Sure if it blows up they could take the ad revenue, but it's not like they are going to sue our man out of existence for simply talking about their franchise.

Oh no, I’m just writing about what I’d like to see return in future Zelda games. And essentially writing a story around it to make it flow and kinda get my point across. I am no game developer in any way😅

Very cool ideas! I think from a design perspective though starting with a story first and then adding familiar locations to fit the story might make things easier for you. Having all these locations and trying to write a story that explains why they exist or why they are being visited will help prevent the story from feeling contrived. Overall I like the video and your ideas though, looking forward to part 2!

Yeah, the story really was just an after thought since I prioritized the places first, because it was initially the main point, but since it was such a big project it kinda evolved half way xD Everything’s already recorded so there isn’t much I can do about it anymore, but I’m glad you liked it and are looking forward to part 2!!

I love how unique your idea and creative imagination is, it's really something that I love. If possible, you should make your own version for Breath of the Wild's sequel, I did enjoy Tears of the Kingdom, but I felt like it could've been much better, the story just didn't land very well with me, so I would love to see your own story for Breath of the Wild's sequel, and you can even bring ideas from other Zelda games, like how you did in this video. I'm such a massive Zelda fan, so it will be cool to see what you will come up with. Either way, great content my guy!

Coming up with your own concept for a Zelda game, huh? I would have loved to see you actually draw your own version of the map instead of covering the BOTW map with screenshots. I mean, if Tingle of all people can make a living off making maps, then it should be easy for you. I think Dark Link would be more at home in the Shadow Temple, or maybe a surprise boss in a light-themed dungeon. Maybe a dungeon with mirrors as a main mechanic? Yeah the thing is, I don’t know how interesting it would’ve been to just draw out a map, showing the scenery gives much more of what I have in mind, and it would’ve been such a disservice to not show some beautiful Hyrule landscapes! And honestly if I did design a map as a base, it would be pretty close to the BOTW map, so I didn’t see much of a point in it tbh.
