It is not just wing loading, balsa is more rigid. Makes a big difference!
@CodyRedskin9 ай бұрын
Thats right, real airplanes in the old days were made of balsa and ply, tha's why balsa airplanes fly more realistic compared to foam

Thanks for the nice review of the OMP Hobby Super Decathlon. I appreciate you showing this flying as a normal modeler would fly it, not a 3D pilot trying to show all its capabilities.

A fellow club member flew one of these and said it will slow to a crawl for landings?

A Decathlon is a fully aerobatic airplane. It will do anything a Edge 540 will do in the right hands

Nice plane that.

The rudder is very authoritative on that one good thing you found it you might have had your hands full. Nice flight and kit.

I was on highest rate and just switched it down to my lowest for better knife edge the following pass. Don't know these things until you try but important to have the radio setup to deal with it. 😉

Wait. Hold on. Did I read this correctly. This plane is ONLY $260 US Dollars?!?!? That is mind blowing honestly.

How long do these sort of planes usually fly for with the recommended 2200-3000mah batteries ?

What covering do they use on this plane and what color res is that?
@EssentialRC Жыл бұрын
Don't know what specific make of film is used but it is perfectly applied and after 7 to 10 outings in different conditions has not needed a heat gun or iron to tighten it up. Hope they make a 100cc version one day

I just wish they were GP/EP. I'm a GP only pilot and they're so thinly built that putting an engine on one will just rip it to pieces.
@EssentialRC2 жыл бұрын
There is a GP version of the OMP Challenger
@TestECull2 жыл бұрын
@@EssentialRC I wish they'd do that with all of their ships. It just makes sense. Compatibility with fuel and electro means a bigger pool of potential buyers!

You’re right! Balsa is best. I’ve pretty much stopped flying foam prop driven planes now and only fly balsa. 👍
@EssentialRC2 жыл бұрын
Totally agree! I still see quite a few foamies I like though...and not enough PNP balsa models sadly. OMP are ahead of the game in that respect. Let's hope they expand the range with some warbirds or maybe even jets.
