When there is mass chaos and confusion, you want to be able to have a plan set in place ahead of time, and have everything you need ready to go. Knowing how to prepare, and what to prepare for, is vital to making it through these emergency situations.

Things a lot of peppers skip on.... exercise. It's not an insult people, it's cold hard facts. All this equipment isn't gonna do much if you can't run for more than 50 feet without wheezing. We're preppers, we're sensible people who prepare for the worst. You don't have to look like David Goggins to have your cardio level up, but train, run, walk. Force yourself to run while you walk.

I 100% agree. I stay in shape, work out, run, and I'm pretty fit. I cannot imagine being like the average American male and having 40 extra pounds of fat, and no exercise. Fitness is the #1 most important thing.

Since I’ve recently been looking more into this I thought to myself “I’m already at an advantage because I’m a very active person and regularly engage in endurance activities like hiking, bicycling, and roller skating.

One pointer, if I may. Why carry a ton of ammo? Extra weight is a killer in a get home or bug out bag. You don’t want to Mad Max your way out of a situation. You will evade and cover so you don’t get into a gun fight. All the ammo in that bag will be gone in just minutes if you get into a direct fire situation.

Your go bag in your car is just to get home to your real gear and the craziness won’t have set in that early after something happens no need for all that. All you need is enough to get home

I dunno, I almost feel like a combat bag should be a separate load out from a bug out bag. If you try to mix both together it just becomes too cumbersome.

I found out that urine test cups from the hospital are great storage for packets of sugar and salt and pepper they don't take a lot of space, also family dollar baby bottles are good for storage in bookbags to tall is better

If anyone is interested in being a REAL gray man, DO NOT BUY tactical name brands such as Vertx, Mystery Ranch, etc. If you want to be a REAL gray man, than you should buy bags that the average Joe could be found carrying such as a nike, puma, under armour, etc. (Buy one that isn’t camouflage, black, OD GREEN, coyote, etc.) Of course these average civilian bags don’t come in all the cool tactical colors and don’t have the special pockets. However, you can easily buy a rainproof pack cover in a camouflage or color of your choice, if you need camo or a particular color. You can also take your bag to a tailor or do modifications yourself if you need to have special pockets or features in your pack. REAL gray men don’t stand out or catch your eye. Blend in with your environment by looking like you belong there. If you are going through rich or poor areas or whatever circumstance, make sure you dress/act accordingly if you can. The point is to blend in, not attract unwanted attention, and go about your business.

Comfortable shoes, like running shoes or trail runners. If you’re in a vehicle you can have anything you want. If you’re on foot and need the pack, the right shoes will be vital. Maybe a rain poncho and a couple hundred in small bills too. Lots of ammo, really???

Lol tell me, what's your plan for "bugging out" because if someone doesn't have multiple different places stocked with everything they need to live off of for at least a couple months (per person) they are just going to die cold, hungry, thirsty and tired. A simple bag is only going to get someone as far as the nearest grocery store. TRUTH
