A charming little film about the peaceful Essex tranquil of Foulness Island, made by Frank Pigram, about whom I know very little. It looks like 8mm film, so would never have been broadcast on TV. Of note is that the music was composed by Radiophonic composer John Baker. himself from nearby Leigh-on-Sea.
Please note: I do not own the copyright to this film; I am a humble amateur hobbyist who collects old clips and films and thought this looked good to share on KZbin. No copyright infringement is intended, and commercially available pieces of music within this film have been muted by KZbin's algorithms.

Thanks for sharing this video. My family lived on Foulness in the 1800’s, some helped build the sea wall. How hard their lives must have been in those times!

Wow, I grew upnon the coast in rural Norfolk in the 70s and much of this looks 'distantly vfamil familiar. Thank you.

Fascinating. As a boy in the 1950s, I lived not far away and used to cycle around the adjoining mainland but never had a pass to go onto Foulness island, so I'm delighted to be able to see something of what I missed. I always wanted to take a boat through Havengore Creek, but never had the opportunity. Thanks for sharing.

I got stuck in a boat on Havengore Creek at low tide, we had to wait until the tide rose so that we could re-float! You can still get to Foulness on the first Sunday in the summer months (check local information for details). There isn't much there but it is very beautiful.

Not actually on the film but lived there for 35 years from 1977 with my husband John Cottis who was born on the Island. It's impossible in a film to identify the true essence of the Island and it's unique characteristics unless you have experienced it.

I would think this film depicts a Lost World.
