You have to remember that Jackson was a custom builder, so they did a lot of one-off headstocks, logos, etc. back then. You can have your '63 Strat... I'll take one of these pre-Dec. '85 San Dimas built Jacksons any day!

Im restoring a charvel 375 deluxe right now with all 80s original parts. I also just bought a pearl white model 4 charvel. I love these axes. So much character and lots of history to them. These are the best guitars of the world and they can't be beat. All the endorsees of these relics can't be wrong.

I own a 1989 Charvel 750XL....it’s a Japanese made,set neck,not neck thru,Gibson scale instead of 25.5,and a full thickness Soloist body,with a full three quarter inch carved maple top.....it’s like they were making a Les Paul......not nearly as cool as these,but interesting how things were done in the past.....

I got a Dinky Jackson guitar that I set aside in my garage and totally forgot about it. It has 2 Seymour Duncan pickups, floyd rose, bolt on, 22 frets, ebony, s/n 002511, made in Ontario California USA. I've searched at jackson site and all it says manufactured in 1995. It has one solid body, not two glued in piece that most expensive guitars now have. I wonder if you can tell me more info in this guitar. It seems to me this is the only 22 frets, 2 humbuckers and Floyd rose combination in their catalog. I think I paid 500 to 600 dollars at guitar center.

Rocky still owns it and it is has a incredible story around it … I work with Rocky and this guitar was used in most of the recordings and played on many tours … Rocky was hands on at Wayne Charvels shop back in the day . Rocky supplied the Maple blank to have it made… if you might be interested let me know … Thanks, Rodger

Insane collection. More so than the actual guitars, it is the history and historical significance of these guitars that interest me in this collection. When these guitars came out, they were game changers. The electric guitar isn't that old. ..and when you think about it...other than the period when these guitars and the locking trem was introduced, not much has really changed about the elecric guitar. We still use wound, magnetic pickups... We still use the same wiring.. We still use the same cords... We still use vacuum tubes in our amps. Teh changes that these guitar introduced are some of the only major innovations that guitar players actually accepted and embraced. So yeah, there is a lot of historical significance to this collection. Good stuff. Thanks for sharing.

I wonder if Randy Rhoads would of used a Kahler tremolo bridge. He used a standard trem on his Sandoval Poka Dot V guitar and his Jackson Concorde. I wonder if he would of used Kahler Tremolos if he were still alive playing on newer guitars he’d get. Kahler tremolo bridge is a fixed bridge. Some think it’s floating trem I’m like “noooope” “ it’s a fixed bridge man” I own a couple Kahler tremolo guitars. I own 26 guitars in total. A shit ton of gear too. Over the years. I also have a Kahler tremolo still in the box. I work on my own guitars too, and I build them in my shop behind my home.

My collection: Wayne Charvel Warren DeMartini Kramer 1984 Bullseye Charvel “Unchained” Circles graphic San Dimas (not EVH) (only 5 were ever made and it was highly exclusive) 15 incredibly rare B.C. Rich Gunslingers, 7 of them being one-offs 1987 Charvel Custom Shop Red/Black Splatter San Dimas that was owned by Paul Gilbert of Mr. Big 1st ever Kramer Pacer ever made Sandoval Randy Rhoads prototype made for Randy EVH “Art” series Bumblebee that was used by Eddie on tour in 2009 Original Fender HM Strat George Lynch’s one-off Charvel Star “Black Andromeda” (hand carved skeleton torso & head with a single bone impaling the head) And finally, the shining star of my collection, my Phil Collen Paint Splatter Jackson San Dimas serial #2/10 ever made, all paint jobs were done by Phil himself, and he actually used the 2nd one on about 7 tours because the paint came out the best and he was really happy with it, it was also used to record Pyromania & Hysteria with Def Leppard

You have a Guitar That was owned by Paul Gilbert, guitar that was made and played by Phil Collins and the first ever Kramer pacer ever made, a randy rhoads prototype made by Karl Sandoval, a bumblebee guitar that was used by Eddie van Halen?! Respectfully, I hardly believe that at all.
@matthewhale9831
@matthewhale9831 3 жыл бұрын
@@bubbles894 I bought the Paul Gilbert one from one of my buddies who wanted to get rid of some clutter so he sold it to me for 2 grand, I tracked the location of Phil Collins’ guitar from Pawn Stars after that episode aired, my grandfather was one of the original members of the Kramer team when they started out and the Pacer came into his possession and later gave it to me, he also knew Karl personally because they went to high school together and they stayed good friends afterwards, he would always visit Karl in his shop and one day came in to find Randy with the finished prototype, it was later gifted to Karl by Randy’s manager after he passed away which was then gifted to my grandfather, then to my father, then eventually to me and I’ve had it ever since, I got EVH’s Bumblebee when he came to NYC for a tour in 2009 and I also tracked it’s location through 6 different owners after hearing that he gave it away after the show, finally got it from a guy named Jackson Harris in October 2010 who sold it to me for 7 grand so he could take his family on a 5 star vacation to Hawaii, so believe it or not, I actually have all of those instruments, currently searching for some John Petrucci stuff, wish me luck 🤞

@@bubbles894 Also, I forgot to mention, one of those one-off Gunslingers was owned and signed by C.C. Deville of Poison, it’s currently listed on reverb for 5 grand, it’s yours if you want it, listed it about a month after posting this comment.

People who dont play can never understand the way a beautiful guitar can make u feel. It feels so good to pick it up and feel the weight of it.. to put your fingers on the strings and feel the tension. I could go on and on.. most of them even smell good. Acoustic guitars smell beautiful. The first thing I do is smell the inside of an acoustic guitar... and the feel of the neck .. they all have a different feel and tone.. there even fun to stare at. There purposely shaped like a womans sexy body. A guitar has hips like a woman even.. guitar s are just so beautiful.. and that's before u actually hear it..

What do you think of the import Charvel by Jackson guitars? I have a near mint 1988 Model 5fx. Was a 5A, but sent back to the factory to add a neck pickup, toggle , and the tone knob added apparently because the single bridge pickup 5A wasn't selling as well as Charvel/Jackson thought it would

@@EssexRecordingStudios i have a 1988 Charvel Import Model 5fx. Im sure you know these were originally a model 5A, but didnt sell well, so about 300 or so were sent to the FT Worth TX factory and were fitted with a slanted jackson J-100 to accompany the J-95 humbucker. Some were also given a tone knob as well as a 3way toggle. My question is this. Do you know what brand and value volume and tone pots these came with from factory?

I recently came into an early Jackson Solosist with a serial number in the 100s. It was in rough shape but I've been getting it fixed up. Would love to know more about them. This one came with Duncan's but the neck pickup had been replaced and the replaced pickup was dead. The Middle seems to be an SSL-1 and the Bridge is a Duncan Distortion. Pearl white with the Kahler Steeler bridge.

Speaking on the Kramer Floyd Rose license, it was possible to get a floyd rose equipped jackson/charvel, but you had to supply the bridge and locknut. Not cheap, considering a full floyd kit was $300 in 1984, real close to $1000 in today's money.
@scottdunn2178
@scottdunn2178 4 жыл бұрын
Indeed. And if Kramer knew you were having the Floyd Rose they were selling you on a Jackson... they would cancel your order and refuse to sell you one. It's one of the reasons Floyd Rose licensed his patent, and ultimately the downfall of Kramer Guitars.

Didnt even know floyd sold kits, thought they were exclusively supplied to kramer. But then again there were lots of guitars who had a floyd by that time that had nothing to do with kramer. Edit, floyd allowed others to use floyd knock offs by 87 or so. Kramer branded theirs OFR at that point. Interesting puece of history.

The Jackson with the teeth on it I believe belonged to Mark St John at one point. Saw that guitar in a book years ago and always wondered about it. It was my favorite graphic and I almost shit when i saw it in this video Makes me happy to know it's still out there.

there are no existing photos of Robbin Crosby ever playing the Instant Sex Firebird Jackson, only 1 other photo I can find thats from Getty Images, that one looks like the original, mystery as to where it is, I'm beginning to think Robbin never actually owned or played it. maybe someone can shed some light on it
