But wouldnt the farming system fail? 🤔💭❤. The main reason being is because websites (Spotify, KZbin, etc) already know of your IP address. So if you farm off of a wifi service, then the views won't go through. Unless if all 5 (or more phones) have its own dedicated mobile service (one T-Mobile, the other Verizon, and so on).

No cuz they're in on it. 78 plays streaming gets u 1 penny, meanwhile the labels take all the ad money. Publishing used to pay 2 cents a click b4 streaming. It's like if u wrote a book & u sell it for $15 a copy, then the publisher says forget selling your book for $15, we're going to stream it for a penny for every 78 people that listen to your book!😮🤔🤐🤐🤪😜. Them people foot is on our necks!

@biggmixxo Word up 💯. They'll never get me to sign no 360 deal though, on dogs. They can keep their system ($0.000001 payment payout / Spotify). 1 million Spotify streams is about $4,000. 4,000 streams add up to about $40.00 🤣. But we gotta stay persistent lol. They can, however, take your music down for farming plays. So be careful of people selling you on getting streams for real money. Save up and invest in it yourself, bro 💯.

Ray is BUGGIN’! It’s about 30% talent AND 70% marketing. The only difference back then is that people had more than the 30% talent which means they were (and still are) exceeding expectations

I love these interviews! Great topic with the Marketing vs. Talent topic. I agree with Ray, TALENT matters, BUT Ray. There's a caveat.. this reminds me of a statement a business exec said on a podcast a few years back about marketing.. "Imagine if you had a phone with 1,000,000 customers' phone numbers. You send a text saying "hey try my bubble gum for $2.00" to 1,000,000 customers.. Yeah, some customers won't be interested. But broooo. Some people will buy from SEEING YOU..... not from necessarily liking or knowing you before you presented the product. GOOD Marketing & promo BEATS talent alone in this day & age. If you disagree, answer these 2 questions? 1) How many good artists never got their shot because nobody knew about them? 2) How many trash artists are out & making $$$ strictly due to some viral motion or marketing stunt that worked out in their favor? 🤷🏾‍♂️ I'm just saying it's 75% Marketing & 25%talent

Rap is not a young person's game if you have the capital to maintain. The industry feeds on young by getting them to sell their souls to investors/ record companies that promise them stardom. I have yet to see a contract that didn't state the record company would own your name and likeness. Not just for music, but anything you do as an artist. Artist like Snoop and Puffy didn't change their names because it was cool. They changed it because the record companies owned their name and they wanted to get out of their contract.
