04:00 😂😂😂 05:37 I have the priorité à droite so I don’t have to look !!!! (That always amuses me, they don’t even stop to check!) Alain Prost! Im nicking that😁 10:28 cleaning the gutters and drains out? Driving at night in France is different. No cats eyes, not as much edge markers. I put brighter headlight bulbs in my car and that helped me. My brother is one of the bravest men I know. We soldiered together and were deployed together. But he will not drive. Just refuses despite reluctantly taking and passing his license. Given the state of drivers these days he’s probably wise! All the best, Ian (Loved the Dire Straits style music at the end !)

We don't have loads of traffic through our village as we have a bypass, but you still get a surprise around the next corner. We've had the 30kph limit in the village since last year. People still think it is optional.

@@MegaBreadvan There’s a lot like that here, are there ? Optional speed limits! I still don’t get that ´no road markings so give way to the right automatically ‘ thing ! Just paint a white stop line! 😁

Just realised I only saw the first bit of your message on my phone, but not the rest. Bit of a Senior moment there, probably Yes Alain Prost, it is just co-incidence that one of my BIL's is called Alain. AFAIK he drives very responsibly, unlike the people who speed through. If you look at one of my recent videos I nearly hit some idiot on a scooter - they cut across a mini roundabout as I was doing a U-turn around it. Yes probably a lorry with a big vacuum cleaner on the back. Maybe due to all the rain we've had - the drains probably haven't coped. In our village and I think all over France, the streetlights are swiched off after 10pm I think. My kids got caught up in that walking home from the local fête du village fireworks the other week. It was a scary moment as they couldn't see a thing! Thank God for smartphones, with their torches, only my daughters was at 2%. Like your brother I can't "actually" drive and found that in France (like America, probably) it is seen as being "odd". I took lessons way back in 1991 over in the UK. But I was a very nervous driver and after 30 lessons I stopped. Both for financial reasons and the fact my instructor said I was nowhere near going for my test. In the early 2000's before my son was born, I got around on a little 50cc scooter, used to ride the 15km to my French lessons in a nearby city 3 times a week. That was fun on Winter mornings. As I said in my video, I really need to push myself to drive to the next village. The road between here and there is a 70kph an hour one and a bit of a rat run. My van is limited to 50kph tops, supposed to be 45kph by law for sans permis. Has been known to get up to 55 as the previous owner had it slightly debridée. Probably for the Paris traffic. Glad you liked the music, it came with my video editing software. The main music didn't, so I've had to add a mention + licence number to the description to use it. Time for me to get my skates on. I have a student in a couple of hours. Tomorrow we've got friends round for lunch. So it is going to be a short weekend. Have a good one. John.

@@bugler75 It is fun when you turn from the top of our street, onto the main street. Priorité à droite in my favour + parked cars blocking the view to the right. Fun when people don't stop to let you out.

@@MegaBreadvan At least you have respect for the road which is very commendable John. I’m off to the local Nursing Home (where I work) for la Porte-Ouverte with lots of music, barbecue and moi, le chef de la bière 😁 Tchin-tchin! Bon appétit et passez-vous une très bonne après-midi !
