I can't even put it into words, but this song is the most beautiful and profound thing I've ever heard. It touches parts of my soul I didn't even know existed and makes me understand things I couldn't see before-but now I do. By the way, read Flowers for Algernon. In my mind, this song and this book are the most incredible and mind-awakening experiences I can think of. And I had a feeling I wasn’t the only one who reached deep consciousness through this song. So I came here to the comments to check, and I found you guys. You're amazing!

An incredible track from an incredible era. It was 1999 and I was 21-years old when I first heard this gem on the dancefloor at Gatecrasher, Sheffield. An unforgettable moment that now seems so distant almost 25 years hence. Scored by the Russian Federal Orchestra (because it was far cheaper to do so compared to the London Philharmonic Orchestra), this track significantly raised the bar to a level that previously seemed incomprehensible; a level that in my opinion has never been surpassed. This track exemplifies the creative genius of that brief but dazzling era of euphoric trance in the late 90s, and retains its timeless beauty and appeal to this day. I'm very proud to have been there to witness clubland at its peak with all the incredible unity that came with it.

Could not agree more. I was 22 years old myself in 1999 and I spent most of the 90's and 00's in clubs, after-parties, festivals and bars dancing or listening to some truly incredible music. Even at the time, it was not lost on my friends or myself just how special the scene was that we were experiencing. It was so multifaceted, the amazing music being just a part of it. All of that seems like some sort of magical dream nowadays, that perhaps I imagined. There was no social media in the 90's (and nobody bothered with it that much even in the 00's) so very little of that time is documented for me (in terms of videos or photos etc). Though given some of the things we used to get up to... that is probably a very good thing!
@misiwelch3978 Жыл бұрын
So eloquently said! I too am a retired club kid from the '90s, the scene was my home. What fond memories. It's unfortunate that I will never experience that again...

8 years old on the original SSX. I had spent years on this game. Perfecting every track, measuring every jump, learning every grab combination, unlocking every secret for every character... But then this level pops up. No ramp paint, no track, no races, no competition, no packed snow anywhere. Just a vague downhill direction and a spine tingling soundtrack. I remember shivering the whole ride. It felt like I was there on that mountain, tasting freedom.

This was the first time that a full orchestra was combined with trance/breaks. I remember hearing it for the first time (I was 26 years old and I'm 52 now) and I knew immediately that I was hearing history being made. It was revolutionary then and today it sounds just as groundbreaking and fresh as it did 25 years ago.

1999 and never heard this track before (I was born in 1991), I literally found it until this year (2020). This track just became really meaningful to me and I'm glad I found it until now, not before, since these last years were really messed up for me (I wouldn't like to hear this track for the same reason), the moment I started feeling free from a stormy past, this track comes up on my YT feed, it's like a gift that God send me (not the track, but the reminder) to make me remember that all the bs is over, new chapter begins. I really love the tone of the orchestra because it expresses a lot of sadness, yet strength and hope, that's quite the way I'm feeling right now.

There was a listing in the back of mixmag many years ago that said not to be missed, live production at golden in stoke, they took over the front stage and blew people’s minds. I was there. I’m still playing it out live now. Possibly the finest and most orchestral pieces of breakbeat that I doubt will ever be bettered. Finished is correct. You could start or finish with this, it would lodge itself or change lives, define a night, up there with cafe del mar as one of the finest pieces of music ever constructed. I should know. Played both on vinyl since I could get a copy... pob x

Wot a frigging tune! Masterpiece is an understatement it seems to describe life in like 9 and a half mins perfectly, the ups and downs, melancholy, sadness, happy, energy, restoration after decimation and aaahhh that whole key change halfway that the orchestra does with the horn section is soo clever, it's certainly one we cud play to ET life and be like thts us awrite, ths crazy frigging planet 🌏 thts been cryin out for neighbours for a few million yrs, where hav u been all ths time 😂 , we wudnt need spoken language!

Saw them open for Moby years and years ago. Great great act from a fantastic era of EDM/Electronic/techno music. If you're my age, we really lived through something special at the ground floor. To really make you feel it though, think about this; there's just as much time between this songs release and today (5/07/2023) as there is between this songs release and "Shining Star" by Earth Wind and Fire, "Philadelphia Freedom" by Elton John, and "Boogie on Reggae Woman" by Stevie Wonder.
