Hello! A little info on XG for you. XG is a 7 member GLOBAL girl group. They are all Japanese (Harvey is half Australian and Hinata is half Korean i believe), but their company(XGALX) is based in Korea. It's sub label of AVEX Inc. which is Japanese company. They promote like K-Pop groups, but they are NOT K-pop. All their songs are in completely English, except some of their Cyphers. XG they are a japanese group of 7 members. They speak japanese. Korean english, and sign language. They have a rap line, a vocal line, and now majority of them are all rounders which means they can sing and rap and dance. Hello from Toronto! Love your reaction! XG is a Japanese girl group - 3 vocals and 4 rappers,. They don't identify as Kpop. More like a global group. They sing in Japanese, Korean and English. They are between ages 18yo - 22yo. They pretty much do any genre, with a focus on hiphop, R&B, and pop. Woke Up is their first all-rap song. Their new track "Something Ain't Right" is EDM with garage sounds. If you want to check out more of their rap they have TAPES that showcase the four rappers' diff flow, cadence, and style. The funny thing is, I discovered XG through one of their dance vids (Move #1) where they dance like female Jabawockeez, so I've always thought of them as a professional dance crew that can sing and rap. Anyway, thanks for the XG content. They're amazing and different - definitely not like the typical cookie cutter bubblegum cutesy girl group that is oversaturating Kpop. Cool rapping, majestic vocals, amazing choreography and charisma. - TAPE #2 and #4 *individual videos (HARVEY, MAYA, COCONA, JURIN) : the TAPE series showcases the abilities of the 4 rappers of the group. they are not kpop, the previous commenter has stated, they call themselves xpop but they ARE promoting using the KPop system, so a lot of people make that mistake and the comments aren't always nice about something most people are going to think at initial listen,

I agree that XG is not KPOP, but since South Korea started out as a Japanese colony, it is impossible to make a clear distinction. Historically, Korea is a part of Japan, and KPOP is also derived from Japanese music culture❤

Also, a few fun facts: 1st: The little coconut 😁, the 1 with the shaved head, COCONA (who is, btw, the maknae - the youngest in the group) is a real rap prodigy, winning a rap contest at the age of 11. She began training at that age and debuted with the group at 16y. At that age she, together with the other 3 rappers: JURIN -their leader, Maya (the other youngest 1 & Cocona childhood friend) & Harvey (the 1 with the very unusual, high pitched voice) went viral with their "[XG TAPE #2] GALZ XYPHER": kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y32Xh5ypoc5sqaM Your jaw will drop & take your medicines before watching that 1 😂. 2nd: There is a significance in COCONA SHAVING HER HEAD while shooting the m/v: is a response to all the haters & other idiots who accused her of culture appropriation, for wearing braids during some of her performances (like the black people are the ones on calling dibs on braids & dreadlocks, wth...), disregarding the fact she is 1 of the most sweet & respectful young artist I've seen so far: she paid numerous homages in her raps to the great figures in the hip-hop culture, she has an extensive knowledge (all of them have, actually) of american r/b & hip-hop music. The haters, who probably don't even have a 1/4 of the rap music culture she has, although many are black americans, couldn't stomach the fact she raps better than 95% of the american girl rappers around today, without swearing, showing her ass & tits on camera for views. Actually, I think she raps better than 99% of ALL the american rappers actually, men or female, period.

Quick facts though...xg are 7 JAPANESE young ladies, they promote fully as a Korean k pop girl group, but they are so far out of the mold, fans (alphaz) and xg themselves have coined their sound *xpop*... For example, the one that shaved her head (COCONA) I think was only 17 when they did this, 18 at the most.... You really need to look up their tapes though and the cyphers... The rappers are JURIN, MAYA, HARVEY and COCONA ... I'm still learning but man... It is a lot and they slay EVERY FUCKING TIME
