I saw this movie on X at the time with my best friend who unfortunately died way too soon but I am so grateful that I was able to experience this trip with him. He was the only one who could go with me in this. Thanks Greg, see you on the other side my friend..❤

This is my favorite electronic album of all time. Minilogue has long since 2007 been the most immersive, innovative and fascinating duo I’ve ever heard. Their double album Animals is a masterpiece, gracing the listener with rolling sonic ambient backdrops combined with ornate and detailed minimal techno. Each track takes the listener on a journey through sounds and textures you’ve never heard before. Classically trained musicians since the age of 4 and 6, Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henrikkson were born to play music together. I never got to see them live, and sadly they disbanded in 2013 to peruse respective musical careers. Their Buddhist nature and secluded house in the woods of Norway enabled them to create away from cities, extracting the purest of thoughts and inspirations for use on their incredibly large array of analog equipment. Sequencers and synthesizers from the 80s and 90s create a physical wall around the artists, as their precise ability to navigate compositions in real time on the equipment is astounding to watch. The release was coupled with a movie, which does an incredible job representing the pieces and the moods evoked. Tracks like Hitchhikers Guide, Animals and Cows, Crickets and Sheep standout in perfection in addition to others like City Lights. The first part of the album is ambient and downtempo house, with the second containing more danceable numbers. As a producer of sorts myself, hearing the complexities and moods had a huge inspiration in the kind of music I ended up making. The ornate polyrhythms and arpeggiated, rolling synth lines combine in perfect harmony. You don’t have to appreciate any particular genre of music to enjoy this, it’s an auditory and visual journey through some of the most innovative pieces I believe will ever be released. Enjoy!

lying in a bed of grass feels like floating watching the trees clouds passing and sun in the eye the phone rang some weird voice spoke to me "animals with no eyes but yet not blind six arms and one leg but not alone standing in the light but yet unseen wings like a fish treads like a bird" strange words in the dark and elephants on the wall trembling all like my dreams i recollect a vision of the past on the other side of the field i heard i heard a rumor "feels like three feels like three feels like something in the tree" the song was fading away evidence of things unseen but i believe i found i found myself lying on a bed of grass

So many cultural references in video sequence, and at such speed at times... I doubt that average viewer could parse this. Nevertheless it's an object of... true "Minilogue magic". Sebastian, Marcus, if by chance you happen do read this - I'm sincerely grateful for this DVD, guys.

- Michel Gondry's music videos are very similar, but they're only 3-4 minutes long. - Adult Swim periodically puts out a smashup show like this called Off the Air. Very similar. - The Scandinavian group iamamiwhoami promotes each of their album releases with a full-album music video. They're very, very well done. Kin and their Live Concert are the best. - Koyaanisquatsi, Baraka, Samsara, and Microcosmos all give off the same meditative vibe, but their soundtracks are not electronic. - For All Mankind is cool. - La Jetee is great
