I don't think farming was "invented"... I mean humans did not invent growing crops. They just learned to cultivate land effectively. Musical instruments on the other hand, are inventions. But you're right in saying that without the rise of agriculture we'd still be making music with the bones of animals :P

So it's kind of amazing - when you listen to all the different videos on youtube of this song, they're all wildly, completely different. It's clear that to him, the song of the golden dragon is something deeply personal, internalized and passionate. As he plays it and explores the song, you'll hear similar progressions but completely different intentions, volumes and individual notes. And you'll see him rocking and nodding his head, liking some bits he plays more than others. So in a way, there is no real "song of the golden dragon." He's the golden dragon, and whatever he plays is his song. I'm kind of obsessed with it now.

Well, this is more because the song is played in the style of oral tradition; there are a number of key moments arranged together into an overall story, but the details in between are made up by the storyteller on the fly every time it's told.

Few things make me cry. Even fewer peices of music really tap my emotions. This isn't a song, it's a storyline, a work of art, a saga even. I trained estas for many years. I feel he has gone beyond what I could ever have imagined. One of the best students I have ever had the pleasure to teach. I recall him as an eager 17 year old wanting to learn chords. He was a quick learner, and by the age of 17.5 he had learnt all the chords and was writing and playing his own music. He is one of the only people I know who actually feels the music he plays. The music becomes part of you. You feel me. That incense stick is to remember me by. He says it's fragrant smell reminds him of the beauty of our friendship or something. I think he is one of the best guitarists in the world. Like me, he doesn't want fame or fortune. We do this for the love. The love.

Chirping, mate.
@nickmahady25025 жыл бұрын
I mean it was a good addition to the song but those are samples of chirps mixed into the track. It honestly is brilliantly executed but in my opinion the decision to have your only instrument panned right with only a little bit of automation here and there is risky cause your losing the fullness stereo provides but the chirping panned the opposite way plus the automation really gave it a spacey vibe inside your head. I’d recommended listening with a pair of hi-fi headphones sometime if you get the chance truly an amazing mix.
