Dear Wild Moon Lacquer (Caroline), The mantis shrimp is thought to have the most complex eyes in the animal kingdom. Their eyes have up to 16 photoreceptors compared to the human eye, which has only 3 photoreceptors. The increased number is thought to allow them to see an exponentially larger variety of color than the human eye. I have decided that in a past life you were a mantis shrimp and your ability to see such a variety of colors has translated to your human form. I have never encountered anyone who can describe color in such breadth and detail is you. I mean you were either a mantis shrimp or a rainbow, it’s a toss-up. I love your videos and live vicariously through your extraordinary collection. Thank you.
