I have The Journaler by Gena and it is easily my favorite specialty grind on any of my specialty nibs. I love how the line variation is so subtle yet very precise at the same time. For a stub, it also has a relatively large sweet spot when writing. I have the Estie in the Botanical Garden color and I spend so much time just staring at it. Love the configuration I got!

I usually grind my own needlepoints because I have a very small handwriting, I should give a try to this one 🤔... Something that would be very nice is compare these new speciality nibs to the original specialty nibs, I have a small collection of 7 different ones and it would be nice to see how they perform in modern Esterbrooks.

Excellent video, thank you. I have an Esterbrook Estie with a FUDE nib, and it has become one of my favorite pens. Is the FUDE that much different from the Techo? I've also ordered an Estie with a Journaler nib and can't wait to try it.

I had Gina put a needlepoint and extra flex on a Pineider Quill nib. It would be awesome if Yoseka had a nibmeister be at the store every other week or maybe once a month. I know Josh Lax is based out of NYC/NJ.

A needlepoint nib is also wonderful for writing on copy paper or other cheap paper.

Thank you for this video, it Will help ed to know what nib I May like. I wondered which of the nibs would tolerate inks with shimmer, sheen or both characteristics best?

Out of the specialty nibs, you could probably use the journaler, scribe and techo nibs with shimmer/sheening inks but not the needlepoint. Hope this helps :)

I love the nib variety but I hate how Esterbrooks feel in my hand... I am constantly told to do a Journalers nib. I wonder if that will be ppopular for you guys.

Too bad tou skip the parts where some of them skio at the start. If it does that i would like to know that. I really hate it when a pen sikps at the start. Why did these do that coming from a nibmeister. To bad you didn’t mention in your video. Otherwise thanx for taking the time to explain and great video

I have all three nibs, except for the Needlepoint-I feel like my fine Platinum 3776 Sakura Celluloid does the job. But who knows? Maybe I’ll get Kirk’s just to complete my collection. 🤍 My go-to is Gena’s; I have two Esties w her grind.
