Thank You Dave! Just picked up a coupe of these kits for my son and I to build as well. I had questions and found your video. You've answered them all. Thanks for the virtual help! 👍

Great build video. The Estes Hi-Flyer XL deserves up powering to 29mm, through tube fins, a rail guide for minimal diameter performance, ejection baffle and add nose weight. Enjoy the conical exhaust contrail approaching the speed of sound on a budget.❤

I like the CA on the fin trick to get the weight up. The reason I don't use accelerator on work like that is because, example: fillets made with CA, accelerator makes the fillets pitty (bubbly). Then you create twice the work sanding them down.

Nice build and some new techniques. I was hoping to see your painting techniques for this model, as the fins and tube on the face card were different colors. Painting and masking techniques are difficult to master by trial and error. Do any of your build videos go over the various painting techniques?

No because I can’t do it readily with my current video setup. Apogee Components has some good painting videos though.
