I dont see a problem when Poch says finishing 6th is not worth celebrating. I think the comment about the old chelsea was along the.lines of instant success versus trusting a process which has not been the way at chelsea. We are not known for patience and it goes against the norm to have to wait and trust a process at Chelsea. When bayern Munich barca want you badly at such a young age you know your a special talent . They don't normally go so hard to sign mid youth talents . Paez . Santos willian and many more youth talents will be here in 2 seasons time . I think we will see the fortunes of the club turn around . We need the likes of James caicedo palmer to be the spine for these youth players in 2 years time . We won't challenge in the next 2 seasons but if we get things rights and add these youth talents I can see us doing bits !

it's stupid, it's just stockpiling talent for the sake of it, but without a pathway to senior first team football these kids don't develop properly. Not to mention every £50m+ wonderkid Chelsea sign is money that isn't being invested in the first team. You can only sell your training ground to yourself once. Nah, again, you act as though your understanding is limited. Two statements can be true. This is a new Chelsea - new players, new staff, new direction, new leadership etc. The standards are different because of the context of the team. That is definitely true. However, it is also true that at Chelsea - for where we want to be - we cannot celebrate 6th place. It’s not confusing mate. We should appreciate the players and give them the time necessary to grow. Do not expect them to produce the Lampard and Drogba performances, but certainly hold them to the standards of Chelsea. They must know what they’re aiming for. In other words contextualize the criticism whilst presenting them the standard that makes Chelsea what it is as an institution.

I don’t get Matisse’s reservations on bringing in Estavo. This is what big club do, they buy young talent they look to develop them and if they come good they keep them and if they under perform or can’t get into the first team they get sold for a profit. It’s the business of football. Some of these guys are so young that they’d struggle to get into a great team anyway so there’s plenty of time for them to develop before they actually have to see the field. The only reason I see that there might be an issue is with us having less international loans. That being said our players are plenty talented enough to garner attention from English league teams

@@matissearmaniI don’t think I am. Signing new young talent doesn’t mean you’ve given up on young talent you’ve previously brought in. And as far as Madueke I’ve always seen him as a guy who we brought because he can contribute now and still has room to get better but his overall ceiling wasn’t world class so when one of the young talents at RW comes good he’s getting sold. Which isn’t soulless if anything it benefits Madueke because he got a move to PL team gets a chance to contribute and then he get a nice deal with a new club where he’s seen as key player. I mean look at what we did with Havertz. We brought him in he got chances and had moments and even contributed but couldn’t live up to his potential and after a few seasons we sold him for a great price. We also had mount at the time and other young midfielders and attackers already. I don’t see how this any different. It’s literally just the business of football.

@@Shsjier for one is 40mil plus 25 in add ons but even if he underperforms the likely hood is he still contributes something to the team. If he contributes for a few seasons that’s value that he’s given back for what we paid for him. So even if we sell him for 75% of what we bought him for, because we got something out of him on the field that would offset the difference. There’s also loan fees if he ends up getting loaned out at some point. Regardless he’s seen as a supreme talent and given what we spent him he’s likely going to be given more of a chance to make it wether that be at Chelsea or what ever club he might get sold too. Kai havertz and mount both came off bad seasons and mount had an injury, both still got sold for a higher price than we thought they would because teams still saw them as young talents with upside.
