Andre Chury (Esteveo’s Agent): “Esteveo as a player can adapt to any style of play. Chelsea see him as a number 10, which to us is very important.” The fact that we saw him as a 10 was mentioned as a deciding factor in most stories surrounding his transfer, so I don’t see where this is shocking people. To be fair, for the same reason I don’t see why it is particularly newsworthy now. People are listing people that watch him in Brazil as ‘validating’ that he is a primarily right sided player. I’ve seen 6 of his matches, and it looks like his heat map would be nearly identical to Palmers from last year. He seems to like the right channel, his last 3 goals have come from trailing in central positions, and his play style actually seems closer to a Palmer than, say, a Madueke. The only thing that is a red flag in this is a players camp talking publicly about where “they” feel like should play positionally. I don’t know why this freaks people out. Olise was ALSO a right/central player that could have interchanged with someone like Palmer on the field pretty fluidly. We saw it as a positive, not an existential threat. Ironically, the player we have coming that looks the MOST like a central 10 is Kendry, and the heat maps back that up. But it will all work out.

personally it makes no sense to play him in the 10 when his best attributes are dribbling 1v1 and cutting in on his wand of a left foot... he doesn't have the passing level of a Palmer to play in the 10. Kendry Paez is much more suited for the 10

I think it's his agent doing that or it's a false news.. If he wants number 10 role why is he playing as right winger at palmeras. And if that's the case I think Palmeras will start playing him as a 10 instead of a right winger because it's even in his contract for performance add-ons. And what player demands a specific position at a club? I know the Brazilians have told the club to give Estavao playing time and shouldn't loan him but there's nothing about him playing a specific role.
