Pasto J.D.You are the best preacher i have ever heard...and i have heard many. You explain scripture, so that it is correctly understood.I wait for your teachings because i love to hear you explain Gods word in ways that i have never heard before. You go into more details that should be told, that we haven't heard before.God has truely blessed you with the gift of being a good pastor.I really appreciate you,and how you bring all your messages across.(And the yelling...I love it.It shows that you believe what u are saying, and you are not a phony.)Keep on keeping on....Hope to meet you in person someday.I will pray for you,and your family, and this ministry.(Maranatha !)from,Pittsburgh Pa.

Right. It's not some habitual thing or some sort of ritual around here; it's just that sometimes we've felt prompted to do it. And I realize that JD isn't saying that there's anything wrong with it. :-)

Pastor JD have you or could you do a teaching on praying and fasting. I SO want to do it but am a diabetic and want to know how to do it right. I love God with all of my heart and want to know Him in a more powerful way. Thank you for ALL that you do. You are such a blessing. Truly!! Hugs to my church family in Hawaii. ✝️🌷💕

Lisa Waller Hi sister. You can also do a fast from what ever makes you happy or you do on a daily basis. Electronics, TV, etc. just make sure that you pray and you give up what ever it is with humbleness.

Thank you all. I know and have done fasting of electronics, sweets, etc. i guess I’m stuck on the law and my perfectionism is showing and I feel like I have to do it perfectly for God to accept it. Food has and is such a struggle for me. I eat to push my fears, anxieties and depression deep down but it never works, now I’m diabetic. It’s a catch 22 almost. Thank you all for your kind comments I will keep praying and doing what I can. That’s the best we all can do right now. Much love and blessings. 😘💝✝️

Sylvia Hass, you are so right about pride. The Lord taught me a long time ago that even though I might not be prideful in myself and have a “high opinion” of myself that the opposite is also true. My low self esteem and confidence is also a form of pride. I pray someday, I will see myself the way my Heavenly Father sees me. I go in for ECT(electric convulsive therapy) treatments after Christmas, I’m very nervous but after over twenty years of meds, and messiness. I’m praying this will give me a boost up. I have no idea why I’m telling you all this, we all have our problems. I’m extremely grateful for Gods family though and trust me, I have complete faith that God will and is working in my life just like He did with Esther!!! I guess that’s why praying and fasting is something I so want to do right now. Thank you all so much.

Hi Lisa Waller! I'm wondering if you've had the ECT yet and how it went. I was diagnosed with major depression/recurrent/rapid cycling (that's a mouthful) and anxiety 30 years ago. I have been on meds since then and you know the nightmare of some of the side effects of these meds. I was put on Klonopin (clonazapam) about 10 years ago. I didn't know at the time it (and any benzo) should ONLY be for SHORT TERM use. I've read that getting off Klonopin is more difficult than heroin. I think one reason the Lord had you open up about your medical issues is that there are so many of us Christians who have some form of mental illness and many churches don't want to touch that issue. I've heard everything from "If one has a mental illness they are demon oppressed" or the opposite "You can choose to not be depressed." I was/am a perfectionist and if I couldn't do something "perfectly" I wouldn't do it at all. (A thought just flew through my mind - I wonder if there's any correlation between the stress of perfectionism and depression, anxiety, etc.) Through the grace of God I'm slowly letting go but it's a process. God bless you, sister.

Good teaching. One clarification: the Jewish exiles were in Persia, not Babylon. The Persians overthrew the Babylonians about 150 years earlier. Ahasueras/Xerxes was a Persian ruler.
