I remember listening to this song as a little girl and being so moved by the melody, the lyrics and Esther's exquisite voice. It is still just as beautiful and still brings a tear to my eye.

My mother loved the Ofarims, bought their records in the Sixties, I grew up listening to their songs and when I was thirteen or so this was one of my best loved songs, I played it again and again. Little did I know I listened to the soundtrack of my further life.

one of the most beautiful voices in the whole world, this lady was very underrated and "cinderella rockafella" did her no favours at all. her version of "mad about the boy" is just wonderful.

Agreed. “Cinderella” did nothing to showcase her expressive genius. The German “Wenn ich bei dir sein kann” is worth a listen.

This is a completely different interpretation than Vikki Carr (it reminds me more of Judy Collins). I guess Esther had more in her than "Cinderella Rockefella".
