You know, Whitney I absolutely adore you, your craft, and wit - and that is why I feel compelled to speak my opinion on this as a big fan of yours. I feel as though this episode was a little bit uncomfortable to watch. Your whole body language toward Esther was so passive: you almost put her down and negated things she said about your friendship, you said all your friends are male comics while she is sitting next to you, you faced the camera more than you looked at her or even faced her with your posture, you cut her off every single time and the first 45 mins felt like a monologue directed to the viewer. Idk why this is and maybe you just had an off day and you felt anxious about something and needed to take control to feel some sort of security (no judgment here, we all have those days!), but this felt a little unfair to Esther, I have seen you hold beautiful deep dialogue with guests but this seemed a little controlled and honestly, if we cut Esther out of this episode, it wouldn't change much in this episode and I don’t love that. I would love it if you could bring her back on :-) I want to express that this is not a malicious hate rant, but rather an observation and constructive criticism that I wanted to address in a polite manner. @@besma2627 Episode #6 was pretty good, what got me into her podcast. Her leaving a voicemail to her assistant moaning about coffee was interesting and sort of funny since he was okay with that. This one though was a bit too self hating so it took my attention. She came off a bit like saying, "I am more successful than you in this business but psychologically a mess because of it. Tolerate me and you shall relish the bounties that fall from this mess I call Whitney." All that from her comparative analysis of herself to the guest. There are some characters you don't do that to, Esther is one of those characters. Edited to add: The reason why is because of the little sister energy. Also only if you tear down positive things you don't have to even look at, You chose this, and now you try to tear it down. Ya who wants inspiration and truth when you can spread your hate and anger, also coming from not pulling your fear into the light and laughing at how unproductive it is, how your the only one who can change that, and your lack of empathy and wisdom withered away behind this fear you love so much. You actually go out of your way to spread, but I'm wonder bread baby, and I'll send positive for you to use to rethink your entire existence and be a light in so much darkness
